Linda Watson spends her twilight years rescuing prairie dogs. She has relocated some 80,000 over thirty years, more than any other person in the world. Watson spends every day traveling to farms, stalking “barking squirrel” burrows, using a hose to pump in water and dish soap, and grabbing threatened, wild animals with her bare, scarred hands. Prairie dogs are not well-regarded in West Texas, as few creatures are, a fact Watson identifies with as a woman reared in the macho ranching business. Before she left the world of breaking ungulates, a young Watson found herself trapped in the hostile terrain of an abusive husband.
In summary, on 09/21/15 at 0418 hours I was patrolling the area of 1600 S. Laramie Ave., at which time I observed a male subject with a youthful appearance walking northbound 16th Street. I made contact with the subject, at which time he identified himself as (Rosas, Alexis DOB 04/21/97). While speaking with Rosas, I detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from his person. Rosas related he had some cannabis in his sweater pocket. I recovered a silver box containing a green leafy substance from Rosas ' right sweater pocket.
“I could teach her things also” she exclaimed, hoping they would say yes. If you didn’t notice, she really wants the dog ,and she also deserves the dog. But they don’t have enough
They took each single dog and lifted them into there nice and fresh car. We arrived at the small, quaint house and they started by bathing all of us. Rufus, Herman, Scruffy and every other dog was washed, and brushed which was something they have never gotten to experience. Next they were fed. But, it wasn’t covered in mold, it wasn’t old, and it wasn’t cold.

In 2008, I moved to an apartment in Rockaway Park located in Far Rockaway. I’ll admit, the neighborhood was far from attractive when I first arrived. The rumor mills stirred up a storm suggesting that Far Rockaway was well… “Rough around the edges” for a lack of a better term. Working on Riker’s Island, most of our patients who reside in Queens often came from Far Rockaway, thereby confirming the rumors that the town was riddled with crime, infested with drugs and plagued with anything one might consider rebellious or unscrupulous were true. And on my first day, I got lost and winded up surrounded by… you guessed it, The Projects.
I think it 's safe for me to assume, that I 'm an "outside the box" kind of dog. Sure I sleep, eat, and occasionally do my required outside duties, but there is so much more to me than meets the eye. I 'm no rocket scientist, but I do often wonder my purpose. Why am I here? What 's my calling?
Every piece of literature can be compared to others to determine which is better. But what if the two pieces being compared are the same story? Anton Chekhov, in the late 1800s, wrote the short story “The Lady with the Pet Dog” about a man who views women as an “inferior race” and constantly cheats on his wife until he finds a young lady he truly falls in love with. Joyce Carol Oates’ story, written almost 100 years later, also named “The Lady with the Pet Dog” is about a woman who cheats on her husband with a lover she truly falls in love with. Even with these two stories being very similar as much as having the same title, one can be determined as the better piece.
I am from rolling green hills, always flowing free with buck and doe, From the wooden floors and carpets laced with dog hair To the echo of roaring bush hogs and tractors throughout the air I am from the black mud courtesy of passing ducks I am from the little black dog who chased a more youthful self Across the kitchen, around the island, trip, fall I’m from artistry and creative souls, aged finer than wine I’m from paint, clay, and most of all, color, that has skipped me entirely From the countless books read, to the times in Youngstown I’m from warm heads in warmer laps Baked goods, Rhode Island Red hens
The Vast Town that Once Prospered Rocky Springs is not much more then a beaten down trail with overgrown trees and ridges. Hard to imagine at one point this town flourished off a natural spring. I never venture out much, but everything I have seen about Rocky Springs was enticing. The remains of the once thriving town and its surroundings left me with an uneasy feeling that pervaded the entire visit. Upon arrival at the abandoned town, I was greeted with an enormous sign telling the general over view of Rocky Springs.
As a young girl, around the age of 10 I lived in the Perry projects with my mother. Previously to moving there I would visit often to see my great-grandmother. When I would visit my grandmother there were not many other people that were African-American. The Commodore Perry Projects had been actually made for white people.

As I stepped out onto the field, my gaze drifted upward. The sky was speckled with millions of tiny, glittering stars. We were so isolated out here that even the Milky Way was visible. I had never seen it in person before. That’s just one of those things that only happens at camp, the most magical place I know.
The Impacts of Climate Change on Species This paper seeks to research the study of climate change and its effects on biodiversity. This will be done by first understanding what climate change is and what the different effects are. Once this is understood, it will be easier to apply this knowledge to the study of biodiversity and how species are affected. Real life examples of different species that are affected will be mentioned and explained. Climate change is a reoccurring issue in our world that has been observed and studied extensively.
