In the documentary “Football High,” Rachel Dretzin explores the world of high school football in Louisiana, using various rhetorical devices to convey the emotional and physical intensity of the sport. Dretzin uses hyperbole and repetition to emphasize the significance of football in the lives of its players and community. Hyperbole is employed to create an exaggerated sense of the importance of the sport, such as when a coach states that "football is life." (30:28) This statement emphasizes the role that football plays in the lives of players and their families, highlighting the sense of identity and purpose it provides. Repetition is also used to drive home the emotional weight of the sport.
My class and I are going on a field trip to a Pittsburgh Steelers game on a bus especially made for kids. The name of the bus is “The Pittsburgh Steelers Fan Bus Only”. It has a food bar, so when you get hungry, you can eat chicken and pizza. If you get bored, it even has reclining seats so you can relax. For entertainment you can play playstation 4 and the games you can play are NBA 2K17 and Madden 17.
RUDY GOES LONG In 1975, Daniel Rudy Ruettiger became the very first player to be carried off the Notre Dame Football field by his team mates. He was told that he was, “five foot nothing, with nary a speck of athletic ability,” and yet he managed to get, and keep, a spot on one of the most prestigious football teams. What was it about this kid? Was it that he was the smallest player on the team?
It’s Friday night and the St. Rita football team is playing Mount Carmel in our homecoming game. Everyone is cheering and having a great time. The St. Rita football team is winning and everyone is exited. As I look around and see how much attention the football team is getting, and how when people think of St. Rita they think of our sports teams. How we have a great sports program.
Win or Lose As humans , we have to lose to win. Life may not always be fair or in our favor but we have to let it run its course. Regardless of how long it takes; devotion, spontaneity, and heart can bring forth an opportunity we would have never been. People can not sit in one place and do nothing and still expect to go somewhere.
This weekend we get to watch a Detroit Lions game! We’re driving down to the West branch to spend some time with our friends. I can’t wait it’s going to be so much fun! My family traveled down near West Branch where we stayed for the weekend with our friends, Brent, Ronda, and their son Brendan.
My church plays in the Turkey Bowl Flag Football Tournament every November. This was not only a time to bond with my youth group, but to also create friendships with other church teams. However, there was a problem: my team consisted of players from age 13-20; however, the 13 year olds had little-to-no flag football experience. Consequently, they got less playtime and slowly became discouraged However, as a leader I wanted to show them otherwise: I coached them, helped them, and give them a new perspective on the game.
My experiences on the Silverado flag football team where good so I was happy that my brother decided to play, it was my brothers first game and I was carrying the ez up that we would bring to every game. We looked for somewhere to sit and my mom pointed towards you and your mom, I was a little hesitant at first but we ended up sitting with you guys.
It was a 40 degree night , chilly for Dallas , where the Super Bowl party was being hosted on the 50 yard line of AT@T stadium’s Football field. The Cowboys had just finished beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl an hour ago and they came home to celebrate and I was the sweepstakes winner so I got to host any 4 NFL players at the party. Just as I put the table on the field, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott walked out onto the field wearing Super Bowl rings.
I can not remember a year where I was as excited for the Vikings season and then this goes and happens. Twenty minutes into practice on Tuesday Teddy Bridgewater took a snap from under center and as he was dropping back to pass he screamed in agony and went down. He suffered some sort of non contact knee injury. Everybody in the building could tell how serious the injury was by the reaction of the players, some cursed, some threw helmets, and some even prayed.
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.”--Ambrose Redmoon Consequently, the soul stirring and heart wrenching motion picture of “Remember the Titans” depicts so eloquently the sacrifices one has to make to stand up firmly in support of their most cherished, morally sound beliefs, and for some it causes him or her to examine whether their beliefs are worth preserving. Thus, this tale of tremendous victory against overwhelming odds is an excellent reminder that valor is a virtue that overpowers paralyzing fear. Because of integration, T.C. Williams successfully merged two high school football teams into one team, which became an unstoppable force in Alexandria, Virginia in the 1970’s in the midst of prevalent social unrest. Nevertheless, the personal struggles of Coach Yoates and Gary Bertier are extraordinary illustrations of the prized possessions one may lose standing up for internal beliefs, which are loss of popularity, loss of economic livelihood, and ultimately loss of existence.
Red and Gold Throughout the week the anticipation builds, you can feel it in the air you breathe. Everyone is talking about the game that is coming up that weekend and predicting how the team will perform. That is what got me so excited for my first Iowa State football game. The day of the game was perfect for football the weather was fantastic the sun was peeking through the clouds, and the air had a little nip to it.
I could no longer afford to pay my cell phone bill because I had ran out of funds. Unfortunately, my phone had been turned off, After one month, I knew my family started to worry about me so I called one of my aunt to let her know I was fine. She said she was very worried and she even called campus safety and they told her to email me. Then, she offered to pay my phone bill so that my line could be turn on, I told her not to bothered because my phone is broken.
Danny was running with the ball when my cousin Miguel kicked the ball away. “You are never going to make a goal on me,” Miguel yelled. That 's when the ball came rolling to Vincent. Vincent was getting ready to kick when Danny announced,“miss”. Vincent looked up and took a shot with the ball.
Sports always were a big part of my like. I always tried to play different sports, back in Armenia. I tried soccer, basketball, handball and walleyball, but I never played the American Football. We call it American football, because in Armenia and many other countries the word “football” means soccer. American Football is something typical mostly to the United States, in the past I did not even see the ball.
