I believe in sisterhood. Being the captain of the team comes with leadership and great expectations. This particular leader was All- district, northeast, and state when she ran into a roadblock against a very important opponent. In the past year St. Fredrick girl’s basketball team wasn’t the best.
The Maui High Sabers football team must have been gaining a lot of knowledge and skill. It has been 13 years since the Maui High Sabers had defeated the Baldwin High Bears in football. Thirteen seasons, the Maui High Sabers football team had lived in the shadow of their crosstown rivals, the Baldwin High Bears. The Sabers were only known for our academics, school pride, aloha to
This weekend we get to watch a Detroit Lions game! We’re driving down to the West branch to spend some time with our friends. I can’t wait it’s going to be so much fun! My family traveled down near West Branch where we stayed for the weekend with our friends, Brent, Ronda, and their son Brendan.
We sacrificed our time and efforts to push our teammates and serve our community. After three coaches quitting on the team, Elizabeth and I were left with broken hearts. Our unity as sisters and leaders sparked a flame to push
A team in Concord, Calif., has had a win streak of 151 games. North Atlanta High School 's team can barely pull off three wins this season. The Spartans have had plenty of perfect seasons. North Atlanta closest time ever in the school’s history was to getting a perfect season was going 7-3 in 2010.The team from California doesn 't know the meaning of defeat. North Atlanta barely knows the feeling of winning.
My experiences on the Silverado flag football team where good so I was happy that my brother decided to play, it was my brothers first game and I was carrying the ez up that we would bring to every game. We looked for somewhere to sit and my mom pointed towards you and your mom, I was a little hesitant at first but we ended up sitting with you guys.
It was the moment I had been practicing for. I was finally going to try out for my middle school cheer team and hopefully make it. I was so excited I could barely focus on my classes that day. I had run through all of the steps at least 50 times that day. I had always wanted to do cheerleading and this was my moment to do it.
When we first moved here my mom went to one of the high school football games and was amazed by the spirit of the fans. She then found out that it was because the football team had won the last two games and they are supposed to be a losing team. Also at this time my brothers and I had been telling my mom for years she needed to quit smoking which she had been doing since she was 13. So, we designed a contract. The contract stated that if the Wabash High School football team had a winning season meaning they had to win 5 games that my mother had to quit smoking.
I learned and grew so much under your leadership. STCF served as my spiritual home as well as a university. All of your messages were impactful. Two of them I will remember until the day I die. Love Myths and The Preseason helped me so much.
The team, the school, and the community were all very excited. We wanted to win a state championship. Everyone knew winning a state championship was going to be very difficult however because Stanberry was another undefeated team in another conference and on the other side of the playoff bracket. Stanberry was winning many blowout games like we were but everyone was saying how much harder the teams they were playing were. We knew even if we got to the
This is why many shy away and choose academics or go Greek because it seems easier to feel included. Yet, I think that athletics create a better, more positive atmosphere than other clubs. I played softball in high school and competitively for many years and have knowledge of the dynamics of athletics in communities. In order to prove that athletic clubs offer just as much, if not more than standard collegiate activities, I observed and interviewed some of the Men’s Ultimate Frisbee members at the George Washington University.
Another thing that Columbia athletics has taught me is to support each other no matter what. No matter the day, time, or weather there were always fans supporting our teams. The fans weren't just students either, there were school administrators, teachers, and alumni. Living in a small town has its pros and cons, however when it comes to supporting we are always on our A game. I will never forget my sectional competition this year mostly because of our fan section.
In my junior year, I started hosting pre-season practices for my team to help them grow before the season. Playing on the Southview team has been a fantastic experience for me and pushes me to want to further my athletic ability and continue
The 2009 Oregon state championship in front of a packed arena was a day I will never forget. Holding ornate posters, all the teams marched in and were introduced. Gazing at the Stars and Stripes while hearing the powerful voice of Whitney Houston sing our national anthem truly inspired me with a sense of national pride. I was thankful for all who made it possible for me to live in such a wonderful country and participate in the sport I love so much. This day was my American Dream.
MY MEMOIR ROUGH DRAFT It was a cold morning on Saturday October,2,2013 and this football game was in Manchester, Michigan. This game was really important, because our football team was playing a team that we almost beat last time which i wanted to win. but that game made us be 0-4. And we were playing a undefeated team, the buccaneers
