It was now the month of Amarum. Nothing had changed, the weather was still cold and wet, but now we could officially call it winter.
Hooray.
No one ever thought of winter as a happy time of the year. The only joy it brought was when it was over and we no longer had to deal with all the snow. During winter, we were all cooped up inside a freezing house, with only a small fireplace to warm us up. Family time was nice, but not when it stretched out for weeks at a time.
Summer was much better; you could run around free as a bird and jump into streams to cool down.
This year would definitely have a late Dark, judging the fact that it was still raining, yet Amarum had begun. Late Darks weren't all that uncommon and occurred in long cycles. I guess that's a good thing for me.

"Its a lake. Have you seen a lake before? Imagine that. There's water, lots of water and there's fish in the water. The rogues all live in a really old house by the shore, and the fish always stay away from there for some reason."

Their punishment is simply that they are killable on sight. Not a good sentence as most are old enough that killing them is a very difficult task.
