Once the grey stormy clouds started rolling on the horizon, something was coming. The smell of smoke was in the air and the grounds started shaking. That’s when everyone started running. It was another bomb attack where all the buildings were falling and people were fleeing. With all the chaos of people trying to run with their families, leaving everything behind to get to a safe place I had to stop. I stopped and everyone around me was pushing trying to get to the border, but I had to take it all in and actually see what was going on around me. Everything was silent, I couldn’t hear anyone screaming, or the sound of mothers weeping calling for their children that they have lost between everyone, and that’s when I heard it. While carrying out the boy, a woman who looked insane with the dust all over her clothes and tears running down her face started hugging me and thanking me. It was his mother. She kept on grabbing me and her little boy tight thanking God for having someone help her baby who got stuck while they were attempting to get to the border. Her priority was to get her son to a safe country since she lost her family due to all the attacks in the past. His mother told me the story of how she ran to the store for some bread with her little son, leaving her husband, and two daughters behind only to have their building crush them after an attack. She spoke about how she contacted people that promised to help her not lose her son and for him to have a safe and promising life. She explained to me that the people were waiting for her to give them her son in order for them to help and while they were walking to get to there, the attack occurred and her son got stuck and she looked for him everywhere. I decided to help them since the mother was really trying her best to provide a healthy life for her
