Before I was completely cleared to go to Northern, I had to appear before the school board and tell them why I wanted to got to Northern. When I arrived to the meeting, it seemed that the hallway stretched out as I walked towards the door. Soon enough, I made it to the door and made my appearance. This is just one of the few obstacles I faced to get to high school.
My English grade went up from 1s and 2s. My overall grade went up to a 2.5. Additionally, in my school, we have a class called Crew. It’s one teacher with fifteen kids or less, and she helps us with the grades and communicate with the group so that you became comfortable in the group, and she was my crew leader. Looking back, I realized that if i had started high school with the same mentality that I ended it with, I would be more successful now and have much more options for my future.
This letter is to address my changing of school within the past few year. I first attended Pennsylvania Highlands Community College starting in high school and had received an Associates in Liberal Arts; I had left this institution to pursue other education opportunities. Attending Mount Aloysius College based on an interest in their nursing program, I had decided to leave this institution after not being accepted into the nursing degree. Conemaugh School of Nursing, I voluntarily took leave after my father passing away unexpectedly, leaving business and personal matter that needed my immediate attention. Most recently I had attended Saint Francis University, where I would still be attending today, but I had lost a large scholarship that was
Imagine going to the same school for 10 years, only to move away in the middle of 7th grade. Transferring schools, that was my life. I’d gone to Ocosta for 9 ½ years, from two years of preschool to the first semester of 7th grade, so the prospect of changing schools absolutely terrified me. However, when 8th grade started, I enrolled in the Aberdeen district and found my own way. Overall, my decision to switch schools was a much needed and very freeing change.
Throughout my elementary, middle and high school career, I have always thrived to do my best. I have remained in the top ten percent of my class throughout all twelve years spent in school. I have made many achievements, especially during my fours years in high school. I earned a grade 5, which is the highest attainable score, on both my Algebra 1 and Geometry End of Course exams, I was accepted into the National Honor Society for maintaining a high GPA and I was accepted into the National English Honor Society for maintaining a 4.0 GPA in English. While in high school, I also have obtained my Certified Medical Administrative Assistant certification, CPR certification, CPR instructor certification, Electrocardiogram certification and Emergency
In ten years I will be twenty six and would hopefully be out of school. I would have gone to school and gotten my bachelor’s degree in mortuary science in one of the sixty schools that are accredited by the Board of Funeral Service Education. I would have done my apprenticeship at a funeral home and gotten my certificate to be a certified mortician. I would be trying to open up my own funeral home to support my family. As a mortician I would work from funeral homes or crematoriums, and helping families who have had family members who have recently deceased.
My second rewarding school experience was in high school senior year. I chose my senior experience because I had to fix what I had done my earlier years of high school. I had to retake some classes and sacrifice my time and my teacher 's were willing to do the same to get me to pass. My teacher 's noticed my main struggles were in math and English and we made a plan of success to help me get on the path to graduate. This year is important because of two reasons reason one was it was my senior year and the second reason was that my school was closing down and there wasn 't going to be any summer courses to take to make up the classes.
It is a cloudy morning in Frisco, TX a small city thirty miles north of Dallas. I had just arrived from Amman, Jordan two month ago and I have been going to school for a month now. I hear my mom calling me to wake me up like an alarm clock “BASHAR WAKE UP, YOU’RE GOING TO BE LATE AGAIN TO SCHOOL” I act like I didn’t hear anything and cover myself under the sheets of the bed and went back to sleep. I never liked school, Growing up I never thought to myself that going to school and obtaining a degree is the best way to secure my future and to be successful.
Remember High school. Each person had their own group of people of close friends. Each day you would have eight total periods a day, including lunch and that one random class to make sure you have your arts and english classes passed before graduation. The only real time you had any time that was not about school was when there were assemblies and activities such as Prom/Homecoming or basketball games. The assemblies were always either something related to regulation, such as bullying or drug prevention, or a celebration for basketball/football.
Schooling brought me many useful skills, including making me a more social, open, and active person. Many of my friendships were made in school clubs, organizations, and sports. Socializing with other students is important to get
At this time of year, I begin to look back at my life after 12 hard years of schooling. Throughout the course of my life, there have been many ups and downs, but these up and downs is what made me who I am today. These influences have shaped my values, attitudes and beliefs towards life. There have been many important people and events that has impacted my life. One of which is family and the media.
The sun shone brightly through the bus windows as me and my classmates approached our school. We were about to leave the sunlight and enter the building we spend 40 hours in every week, one with few windows and almost no real food. As the bus pulled to a stop, we started exiting the bus, barely chatting on how it was impossible for it to be this cold while the sun was still shining. Welcome to Texas. As we walked into the building, we split up and went our separate ways.
School School has always been my escape; it is a way for me to leave reality and be productive in something I am sure will one day change my life entirely. Graduating from high school was a step I was always afraid off, I was aware of college was around the corner and I was not sure how I would come up with the money to pursue my career in Marketing and Graphic Design. Financially, I had no help, whether it was from the college I decided to attend or from my parents. I concluded that the only way for me to attend higher education, was to pay out of pocket, as no matter how hard I attempted to search and apply for undocumented/DACA student scholarships, I was never awarded any.
School is where I met some of my friends whom I will have relations with for the rest of my life. School helped me acquire many remarkable memories, and it helped me establish goals for my future. Since I grew up in a miniscule town of about two thousand, my high school was like a second home to me since I spent most of each day there. My schoolmates were people whom I have known since kindergarten.
I check my watch as I race to catch my first ever Austin Metro bus home. My metro bus ride to school in the morning proved disastrous. Taking the southbound rather than the northbound bus had left me confused while waiting for the return bus and embarrassed while explaining the reason for my late arrival to school. It 's 4:33. Oh man.
