Week 6 Review Questions 1. How did the limited central government created by the Articles of Confederation reflect the issues behind the Revolution and fears for individual liberties? The limited central government represented more of a peace treaty between that states than a blueprint for a powerful nation. It was created to maintain national coordination during the Revolution, but not much more; The States still held most of the power. The only powers the national government held were those essential to the Revolution such as declaring war, conducting foreign affairs, and making treaties with other governments (Foner 249).
I am Jimmy Nguyen, a graduate from the S.T.E.M(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program of L.V Berkner High School. Unlike the classmates in the class, I am the type of person that will work hard in order to achieve a goal that would eventually help me hit my milestone. My strengths are being able to work with classmates, fighting back procrastination, and hardworking. My weaknesses are time management, being organized, and prioritizing. It is required to have at least double the amount of time I am in class, so for this class I am required to have at least four hours of study time outside of class.
Every morning I have to spend an hour in order to send my baby to the babysitter and another an hour before I get on campus. As I spending two hours in the morning to get on campus and two hours to get home was through for me. Sometimes, I am late to class, missed examinations or missed the beginning of every topic with the early morning classes. This made me feel tensed and uncomfortable in those classes. Some professors, it was okay with them, but others it was a tag of war.
It was eleven o’three when I finally started my homework. It was official; I was in the fourth, final, and worst stage of procrastination, the crisis stage. I was exhausted, just trying to finish solving all the problems, and not even checking to see if any of them were right. It seemed no matter how many times I had to suffer the consequences of procrastination, I still chose the easy way, or at least it was easy for a while, until I had virtually no time left and had to rush to get it done.
If I knew that I would be away from home all day at a marching band competition on Saturday, then I would need to schedule time during the week and Sunday to work on projects or studying for tests. I could no longer procrastinate until the last minute, or I would end up getting only one or two hours of sleep. My grades slowly dropped because I didn’t have time to do any schoolwork and I would miss out on lessons because I would sleep in class. I knew that I couldn’t blow off my schoolwork, so instead of staying out late I would stay in school to finish any work that I had left.
Although it may not seem like a big deal in hindsight, the first time I failed a test taught me one of the biggest lessons I ever learned: the value of knowing that you are always enough, no matter the situation. As a freshman in high school, I was used to getting good grades with little effort. So taking an AP class seemed like an easy opportunity to buff up my transcript. Little did I know that that would be one of the hardest classes I would take.

There I am sitting on my couch with a laptop on my lap. I have a paper due tomorrow and I have no idea what to write about. I put my fingers to the keyboard keys and start to type out the first sentence. “Once upon a time,” I said out loud making sure it sounds right. “There was a boy...,” but I stop short of finishing the first sentence.
People often put off important tasks, whether it’s something easy or challenging, until the last minute. It’s not something to be proud of, but it’s not something that one can easily overcome. As most know, procrastination, according to the online Cambridge Dictionary, is the act of delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring. Although many dawdle due to psychological factors, more people, especially students, now find themselves being drawn to ongoing distractions from advancing technology and easy access to social media platforms that are affecting GPAs, sleep patterns, and general health. Technology was initially developed to help individuals to be more efficient with their tasks.
Overcome Procrastination and Get Motivated Procrastination in some form affects us all. It is present in everyone's life, so don't feel like you are the only one fighting this battle. The truth is, we all have things - tasks, chores, projects, decisions, or actions that we delay or put off. We all enjoy the comfort of doing what is fun and easy.
Observation: I never procrastinated when I was younger, but as I got older for some reason I began to delay my responsibilities as much as possible. I observed as my peers did the same and left important task to the very last minute. I have stayed up late at night trying to finish a project that was due the next day simply because I delayed doing it earlier. I have run around like crazy and stressed out about filling out applications a day before the deadline because I wasted my time doing other things. I also saw many of my peers doing the exact same thing.
My concept of procrastination was that mine wasn’t all that bad, that I didn’t procrastinate that much. So that meant in my mind that deadlines weren’t that big of a thing to worry about. I would get the work done in time for it even if the work was thrown together last minute. Time also seems to become a less intimidating thing.
