Personal Narrative: How I Affected My Life

I HAVE LIVED MY LIFE THINKING THAT THE WAY I LIVE WAS NORMAL. I wake up at 7:00, do my homework once I come back from school, do my after-school activity homework, and sleep at 12:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. I repeat that every weekday. I had no choice but to think that what I do was what everyone else did. I was wrong. It was when I was an eighth grader when I first found out that there were people who do way less than what I do. It came to my head that there were people with more freedom than me. They walked to school, they headed to Starbucks every school morning, and they had at least three hours of free time a day. I had envied them. During the middle of eighth grade, I had found out that having all this freedom was not too great. My friend who had at least 5 hours of free time had no choice but to go back to Korea. A few days ago, I have heard from him and found out that his bare minimum effort in his school has only gotten him at most a 25% on his tests. …show more content…

Now that I am looking back at this, I think that this was a successful way to get me adjusted to the high school schedule, but my middle school self says otherwise. Although this was helpful, I wish that I could have had a bit more freedom. This I believe that little freedom is not enough for a person to live off
