I relate to the Disney princess Rapunzel. Like Rapunzel, I dream big, I work hard to achieve my goals, I am independent and constantly challenge myself, and I am compassionate and welcoming towards everyone I meet. In the movie Tangled, Rapunzel’s big dream is to see the floating lights. She goes to great lengths to achieve this goal. She leaves her tower, despite her strict mother, and she faces many challenges along the way. She perseveres and eventually reaches her goal of seeing the lights. I am like Rapunzel in this way because I am very driven and would go to any lengths to achieve my goals. This past summer, I auditioned for the highly selective South Central Regional Orchestra. She doesn’t wait for someone else to solve a problem, and she isn’t afraid to lead and take charge. I consider myself to be just as confident. I am never afraid to lead and do what is right, no matter how hard the challenge. In the film, Rapunzel did everything her mother asked of her, exceeding the expectations. Likewise, I will always push myself to exceed the highest standards. In life, I always strive to be the best. For example, I have become first chair in the symphonic orchestra, I have played Varsity tennis for all four years in high school, and I have achieved a high GPA of 4.35/4.00 and am 18th in my class. A strong characteristic of Rapunzel is her compassion and desire to include everyone. When she comes across thugs in a bar, she is timid at first, but she makes an effort to get to know everyone, include them, and help them reach their goals. I try to be just as kind and welcoming as Rapunzel was every day. When I was young, I was taught the golden rule. I have been determined to live by that rule and treat everyone with kindness and compassion. I don’t want anyone to feel unwanted or excluded, so I include everyone, no matter who they
