Basketball is a game of chess. It is non stop running shouting and yelling, just like my championship tournament for my Hoover basketball team. I was tired before the tournament even started because I had already played a game earlier in the morning at 9:00 am at Chelsea Elementary School with my Berry team. After that game I went to play in a tournament for my Hoover team at 11:00am.
The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
Football has been my favorite sport since I could run. Running free in the grass with friends and family made me appreciate the the quality of life I was blessed to have. Senior year of high school I went from league champions to below .500 records. Lake Winaukee was where the team would prep and practice for the upcoming season. As a senior, I felt I was obliged to help my team win football games and the place we could create chemistry was Lake Winaukee.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
The Golden State Warriors have broke the Chicago Bulls for the NBA record of most wins in a single season. The Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125 to 104 on Wednesday, April 13 in California and broke the record that was set in 1995-96 by the Bulls. The Warriors finished with a record of 73 wins and 9 losses this season and are now playing in the playoffs. Stephen Curry also hit his 400th three-pointer during his last regular season game breaking his old record from last season. Hopefully the Golden State Warriors will continue to play as well as they are so they can become back to back champions.
Everyone has different points of views on different subjects. This could range from a simple object to a complex idea; whatever the concept might be, everything will be viewed differently depending on the person viewing it. When it comes to sports, millions of people generate different views of a given sport. A good example is when the Golden State Warriors went head to head against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals. The following are two different views of the same basketball game.
I watched as the batter stepped up to the plate. My coach pitched the ball and BAM! The softball hit me right in the knee! My softball team had a tournament coming up for Minnesota schools.
The year where you learn what high school is about, the year where you find yourself, and the year where you find out what high school sports are all about. I came into high school football not knowing what to expect at all. I was pretty excited, but also kind of worried at the same time. During the summer, there would be lifting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I was terrified to go because I didn’t know a lot about lifting with all of the guys
Everyday people have the opportunity to determine and construct their own decisions and fulfill personal desires. People don 't control their fate, however their destiny lies within their own hands. Believing in fate means supernatural power beyond your control predetermines your life. Ambition and effort towards your goal will determine the outcome of your future. Through experience I 've conquered and obtained my long term goal of playing collegiate level basketball.
I finally felt like I was fitting in more. In that season I was opening up a lot more and was starting to be more like myself. Our team was dominating the league and for the first few games of the season I didn’t let any goals in the net. We were a team, acting like a team and working as a team. I remember the semi-final championship game the best.
Everyone knows I’m not the best player on the team, but at least I made the team right? Wrong just because I’m at every single practice, I attend every game, doesn’t mean we are all seen the same. They are better than me, they show me all the time. I know the girl’s basketball team doesn’t always see me as a teammate, half of the time I don’t view myself as one because of the lack of playing time I have.
The fall of my sophomore year I attempted what was, for me, almost unthinkable. My daunting task: trying out for the school basketball team. This may not seem like a big deal to most, but for me, just filling out the paperwork was an agonizing decision that I put a lot of thought into. I recognized long ago that one of my greatest fears is failure, and as a fairly uncoordinated and inexperienced nerd, that seemed the most likely outcome. I also have a crippling aversion to public embarrassment, to the point that a twisted sense of logic often prevents me from participating in events as simple as a party.
Basketball It was my senior year, and I was about to play my last game of high school basketball. My adrenaline was rising as I was listening to some rap songs. I was ready to play, but I was upset that this would be my last high school game. I was hyped up and ready for warm ups. We came out of the locker room, and I was the first in line for lay-ups.
A time where I succeeded in the face of setbacks is during my senior year of basketball. It started at the end of the season my junior year when we lost five very good players because they graduate. One of those five players that graduated played the same position as me, and always played so I rarely ever played. Once they graduated people told me I was never going to be able to be as good as the kid who graduated before me and replace him. It really made me mad and I told myself that is not true.
" Believe" was the motto my volleyball team chanted and enforced daily in practice, games and tournaments. We were a team of diverse, passionate players. Our dream and goal was to win the 2017 state championship. It was a defining year for volleyball at Lexington High School. To begin, we had long and difficult summer workouts.
