Personal Narrative: My Father To An Evangelical Christian Church

At the age of 6, I was raised in a Catholic church and had no clue what were my beliefs. I would attend because I am really attached to my mother than my father. Every Sunday, I would decide whether to go with my father or mother but, usually, I would go with my mother to the Catholic Church. Another reason I would go was for the after service festivals because they were so fun even though their Mass is so boring. It was rare when I would join my father to an Evangelical Christian Church but when I would assist I felt weird because I was experiencing two different religions. I was a little strong girl who had faith in God because He is always there for me when I am sad or going through negative situations. Then, an amazing ministry impacted my life and I was really eager to be part of it to show my talent to God. It is called Shachah Ministry which is creative arts and dance to worship the Lord. My team and I use tambourines, flags, and streamers. Each of these instruments has a significant verse for each. For example, for tambourines, we do dance routines and each routine has a purpose with a verse. Every time we hit the tambourine during worship in my church is like scaring the bad spirits away from the House of God. One meaningful verse I memorized is in Romans 12:1 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship.” This verse represents who I am in this ministry I am a Christian who has the freedom of expression while worshiping God and to realize the full potential God created me for.
