1. During my first 2 year of high-school, I was on a fast track to success but everything changed my school tuition dramatically increased from 9500 dollars to 15,000 dollars. Since we lived on income of $47k a year, you could imagine how paying $25,000 on your children’s education (including my sister) would be extremely difficult. However, my parents always believed in granting their children with the best they are capable of giving. Due to the excessive amount of work my father had to endure, I would always arrive to school late and I would have little to no time complete school work (which required a computer most of the time) and even train my mind for the SATs and Bio-Olympiad. Even thought I was going through difficulties I was still able to keep my GPA above a 3.0 until I started getting ill with extreme vomiting and major headaches due to lack of sleep and had to take week off school because of my illness. Since I failed to get my absences excused, my absences and tardiness totaled above the school’s maximum so my grades were automatically turned to Fs and even my A’s were turned into B’s and C’s (my school had a policy that for every 18 tardiness/absences per class would result in a full grade letter drop and if reached a total of 24 a class would be automatically failed). At the end, my GPA for my junior was unfixable 1.67. I went from a 3.83 GPA AP scholar to a failure. My dreams were shattered right before my very eyes. I pleaded for a chance to improve my GPA and I was granted the opportunity to retake my classes over the summer and throughout my senior year.
