When I made a lucky catch, I learned what carelessness could cost you. I was around seven years old at the time, and I played baseball for Lakeview Playground. It was my first year of playing hardball, and like everyone else, I had no knowledge of what was happening. Our team name was the “Grey Sharks,” only because our jerseys were
The outfielders were passing a ball while the infield was passing another. First basemen Joci or Joe Dirt, threw the ball to me. It hit the tip of my glove ad came back and hit me in the mouth. I was going
Then the first pitch of the game was thrown and the crowd was roaring. Our pitcher was throwing heat he stuck out the first two batters and the third batter grounded out to the short stop. It was a one two three inning and it was our time to start getting the bats going. We were up and their pitcher was what seemed to be unstoppable he was pitching about 80 miles per hour and we just couldn’t touch him.
The ball went flying through the air as if it was taken by the wind. I watched it and then was then yelled at to RUN! It was my first ever baseball hit. I Lined up inside the box itching to get my first hit. The pitcher got the signals from his coach.
See . . . you swung at the ball and didn't hit it. That's strike one. See, you in the batter's box now. You swung
First Week as a Freshman Baseball Player The summer was almost over went I realized that in a couple of weeks I will be in my new school that is not anymore a school, now we are talking about a college. When the times came I was on an airplane, on my way to Texas. My feelings were really emotional because I was living my hometown, the city that I grow up and never left for too long, on other hand, I was really excited because I was doing what it was right for me. I had a scholarship to play baseball and study for free.
It all started a year ago when my name got called in the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. “With the first overall pick in the 2016 NHL entry draft the Carolina Hurricanes are proud to select Samual Cane.” It was a dream come true for me and for the organization and the fans. My draft stock went up throughout the year from being projected not to be drafted, to a clear number one above players like Austin Matthews, Matthew Tkachuk, and Jacob Chychrun. This was a miracle to most people, but this wasn’t the highlight of the season.
First home run Crack! The ball flew off the bat and went as high as a bird in the sky. Aaron is a young 11 year old boy who loves playing baseball whenever he can. Every Time that he would step up to the plate he was always swing for the fence and dreamed about hitting the ball over and seeing all the fans cheer as he rounded the bases. All of times Aaron had played he never had home run but was always close sometimes hitting the wall just short of the ball going over it: but today that was about to change.
The Craziest Baseball Game “DING!” the ball collides with the bat and rolls all of the way to the fence. I take off, sprinting as fast as I can to get to 2nd base. I touched first and then landed safely on second base, smiling ear to ear and listening to my teammates and fans go wild because we might actually have a chance to win this game. Before I tell you if we win or lose, let me tell you about how my day started.
Strike two... Ball one... I held my breath as the Woodward’s pitcher started her windup. Shelby swung with all her strength, you could hear the air off the bat. The ball crashes into the catcher's glove, strike three.
In my life, I have been through so much in my life, from good times, to bad times, I had to make the best out of everything. Ever since I was a child, people have been making fun of because of my skin color, and what my beliefs are. I had to deal with that all of my life. You couldn’t live in my shoes, anyone could try, but all of them would fail. In my life I had, many hardships during my childhood, as a grown man playing in the MLB, and as a Senior.
We were all ecstatic. My parents and I knew that I had to practice as much as possible. Executing this would make it plausible that I would make a baseball
Then I ran out to the field and began pitching. It was the change of an inning. I went into the dugout, got my drink of my water and rested my arm for the next inning of pitching. First batter was up for our team, he got a hit. The second batter, strikes out.
I lined up to the base and looked at my friend who is a seventh grader wrestler to roll the ball. I knew it was going to be hard to kick his ball. He rolled it with perfect accuracy as I took my stance and prepared to kick with all my might. I kicked it right to second base unfortunately. I bolted to first base hoping there would be a chance I got there before the ball did.
In the first game of the tournament I was playing left. A girl was up to bat and popped the ball up to me. I caught it and threw it to 2nd and got that girl out too. Throughout that year I recorded more double plays, and almost all of them were in the same style as the initial one. I feel very admirable when I make a good defensive play to help the team win.
