Personal Narrative: The West Hershey Game

The June 27th, 2015 championship game for our local West Hanover baseball team, it was a beautiful day Central PA perfect for the great game of baseball. Looking back it was a day I will never forget, possibly one of the most important days of my life. We were playing our rival team the undefeated Hershey teams, us only having one lose in our regular season to the one and only Hershey team. This team was loaded with athletes their cocky attitudes. They were like the Yankees and we were the Phillies, we were the underdogs but we had a motive we had an inspiration for the win. It was five o’clock and we had an hour till game time, and I was on my way to the field I was listening to music trying to get in my “zone”. The stands began to fill and it was time for the game to start and my team mates sat around me as me and the coach began our pregame speeches. Before every game I would give a speech and the thought of a good humorous speech always put a smile on their faces. I told the team “Listen boys we have spent the last six months busting our butts for this moment. This is where all the hard work pays off. Guys I don’t know about you but I’m feeling the win let’s make this count boys. Get er done on three, one... Two... Three... GET ER DONE!” It was 6 o’clock on the dot as we marched on the field hyped ourselves up. Then the first pitch of the game was thrown and the crowd was roaring. Our pitcher was throwing heat he stuck out the first two batters and the third batter grounded out to the short stop. It was a one two three inning and it was our time to start getting the bats going. We were up and their pitcher was what seemed to be unstoppable he was pitching about 80 miles per hour and we just couldn’t touch him. It was another one two three inning and the second inning
