In the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson she is trying to show about strength is that people grow and can get stronger throughout time and experience. As I was completing my work in Kumon,a math and reading educational center that helps children with standardized testing; all I could think about was what I wanted to get from the prize drawers. We went to the attendance office to pull him out of class and they said they couldn’t because they were outside and my Dad was starting to get mad because my Mom was about to give birth to my little brother any minute and my Dad could not miss it. We finally got him out of class and we flew to the hospital. When we got there we went straight to a room because my dad had to go to my mom because she was having a baby. While we were in the waiting room we watched T.V on a big flat screen T.V. We sat in there for about four hours waiting, it was like watching paint dry it was the longest time of my life. Justin and I were watching some Zeke and Luther and the doctor comes in and says “Do you want to see your baby brother”.
1st Dan In The Federation When I was fourteen years old I became a 1st Dan in the World Traditional Tang Soo Do Federation. I had been training for this day since I was four years old and after ten years of hard work I finally received my Black Belt. It was one of the proudest days of my life since my dad was my instructor. He had been training me for all of these years and martial arts was a huge part of my life.

Hi Journey Group! If you know me at all, you absolutely know that I crave new experiences and love to share them. This year, I have begun new adventures… from beginning a new job, to becoming the first African-American female Publisher in Charlotte, to fulfilling a life-long dream of writing and publishing a book. We all have connected at different points in my life, and by far, this is the most exciting time for me that I’ve had in a very long time.
