I feel like I coped incredibly well with this during the activity as I was able to give the correct amount of help needed for each individual. I understood that the children required different prompts, explanations and levels of time in order for them to answer the questions. I tried my best to include all the children and felt like the activity was positive overall.
1. What supports do you feel are needed at Eagle Summit to improve the experiences of the students? The supports that we need at Eagle Summit include a full time clinical therapist, resource officer, campus monitor, high/middle school teacher, and facilities that are equipped with the necessary tools to effectively teach the career pathways. This would include a weight room, construction shop, automotive shop, and health care lab.
When I was 15 I started going to day treatment. It was in Shiocton and was called Chaps Academy. It was in shiocton and was called Chaps Academy. It was for girls only and there were two groups. The first day I went to see it I saw the trainer lunging the horse.
I knew there will be going to be children, but I never expect younger children and older children coming to the event especially kids who are only few months old. I never thought I would be working with such a young child, and it was interesting how we work with these younger kids compare to 10 years old. It was totally different, and it was a great experience to work with kids at that young age and also with older kids. I expected families will join their kids and participate, and they did. Parents and their children join in together and having fun.
It’s the end of the game, my team is down one, there are eight seconds and counting on the clock and the ball is in my hands. I search the stands to find the one person who has been there for me my entire life. Only he’s not there. It’s easy to get caught up in the game; not the game of basketball, but the dope game. It is a life few choose, but many find themselves in due to the harsh reality of job loss and depression.
These students at Hope Academy all have disabilities and taking extra time out of your day will help them develop learning skills and also help them become more sociable. From all the information given about Hope Academy I knew what to expect as soon as I walked in. To be honest I actually got more than what I expected from volunteering there, the students actually taught me something. While volunteering you can tell that everyone there loves their job and enjoys every bit of developing the students. I am very grateful for Mrs. Pam introducing me to Hope Academy and giving me an amazing opportunity to work with those awesome children.
The third suggestion I will make to the families and caregivers is to let the children dance around the room this is developing their gross motor skills. The frouth suggestion I will make is
Suddenly, we heard a noise coming from the bottom of dad’s car. My family and I had just gotten back from a road trip. “What is that”? I wondered. My dad walked over to the car and peered under.
At my high school, the Beta Club is the most elite, respected, and prestigious club. It is filled with the leaders, the doers, the hard-working, and the individuals who turn their dreams into reality. It is not for everyone, and in our ever-changing society, that is clear. Most people today do not like to rise up to the ever-growing challenge of leadership. It takes a certain kind of person to be a good leader, and the Beta Club has greatly helped me in doing so.
Listen my grandchildren, to the story of my past, the good and the bad, how your grandfather and I met, and the cruelty of the world around us. It was the date November 9, 1938. I was playing at my best friend, Rebecca’s house. Her house was a part of her father’s shop, which sold everything from shoes, to toys, to makeup, to clothes, anything you could ever imagine.
Reading and learning about how to modify care to a child’s needs is easy, however I assumed it would be different in reality. My biggest fear was being able to build rapport and make the children comfortable prior to treatment. However, the day was completely awesome! I had
Hi Journey Group! If you know me at all, you absolutely know that I crave new experiences and love to share them. This year, I have begun new adventures… from beginning a new job, to becoming the first African-American female Publisher in Charlotte, to fulfilling a life-long dream of writing and publishing a book. We all have connected at different points in my life, and by far, this is the most exciting time for me that I’ve had in a very long time.
J. R. R. Tolkien always said, “ Not all those who wander are lost”, but that’s not always true for me. One day I was wandering around in Hy-Vee and got lost. Then,I couldn 't find my mom just because I was looking for something to eat. It was a normal day, like any other, when my mom and I went to Hy-Vee to get some grocery shopping done for the week. During the car ride there my mom and I were talking, and I said, “I’m hungry.
An experience of my own that involves a musical moment that brings a memory is a song called, “Hokey Pokey.” This is a nursery rhyme that children learn in elementary school. This song is an example of a musical moment that brings a memory to me because when I was in kindergarten, this song was played every day during dismissal time. While all of the students were waiting to be dismissed from the class the teacher would put this song every day. Meanwhile, the “Hokey Pokey” song played we would all get in a circle and start dancing to this song as a group.
When I was a little girl, my mother taught me to have a caring heart for the people I love. She encouraged me to volunteer to help my grandparents around their home emptying the dishwasher, picking up brush in the yard, folding the clothes, and helping with supper and the mountain of dishes that followed. I never realized how important this act of kindness would shape my life the way it has. I have always had a great desire to work with children; through experience, I know that I have an abundance of dedication and desire to guide a child in the way a mentor would to shape their life. By volunteering for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a nonprofit organization, I will have the opportunity to pair with a child in hopes of reaching out
