I went to my local Dollar Tree to make a menu for a family of four people. It was a little challenging to do so. My local Dollar Tree, which is located in Camden, Arkansas, do not have a frozen section like many other Dollar Tree stores. The Dollar Tree stores that has the frozen section has way more food selection then the Dollar Tree stores that do not. The frozen section different meats selection and a variation of breakfast foods.
Five years ago, I worked for Publix Supermarket, and I lived in Warner Robins Georgia. This next weekend was inventory time and the entire store was to be counted by Monday morning. Nobody was pleased about offering up their weekend for inventory. The stores morale was extremely low, and no one wanted to be counting inventory all weekend. Our supervisor decided to offer each one a chance to demonstrate how effective they could work as a team.
As I bagged my first grocery bag i picked up a Lucerne carton of eggs. My hands got cold from picking it up and putting them gently into the bag. I made sure that it goes on the bottom of the Vons plastic bag. Next a loaf of bread came down the belt from the scanner to the end of the check stand where i picked up the bread. I didn’t want to grab it too hard or I would smash it.
I was told I was going on a missions trip to the Dominican Republic and I was excited for the pretty water and I had these high expectations that I would soon find out would not be met. The day came that I was heading to this mission trip. Fast-forward to the 3rd day that I was there I went to the slum village. I pulled up and saw the mud roads
This trip to the store was different. I almost got into a car accident! On top of that, I started cursing out the person that almost hit me. I was starting to feel road rage. That’s when I said to myself, “If this next store don’t have them, then you need to take yo ass home because, you’re burning all this gas and you’re about to get your truck tore, up over some damn Twinkies!”
I shook my head, and said, “No way; this can’t be.” I saw a family, like someone was rolling a film in front of me. It was like history playing in front of me. I called my mother and told her I saw people eating on a table, a man with a beard, and someone that even looked like my mother. That night, I woke up every hour on the hour, to see if this was real.
In the neighborhood I saw my mom walking with a girl, it a relative. Never seen her before, apparently she is my niece, she came here from a trip all the way from Mexico, with no actual guardian with her, and cannot speak english. Relating to her became impossible, I tried to talk to her at times but it just ended awkwardly, sometimes I avoid talking to her. A thought hit me, if she leaves, then I have no idea when she ever come back. There was always this one person in my family that comes to visit and when they do I never see them again in a billion years or sometimes never.
I walked to Costco it's, my favorite supplier I came to a halt when I realized that I didn't pick up a flyer I gripped my cart tightly and sped past aisle seven I finally made it to the food court and it smelt like heaven I glanced at some signs and they informed me about the sales I also checked my phone and my mom said "Pick up four pales" I raced to the checkout to get a good spot in line I was told that my membership expired so I had to pay fine I am officially broke from all the money I had to spend
The walk to Wholefoods isn’t long but I was in a rush because I didn’t want to miss the movie. I was speed walking and I saw a friend’s older brother, Hakeem, that I hadn’t seen in awhile. We said “hi” and chatted for a bit.
Yesterday was a hard day for myself and the majority of my team as were promoted to guest. We now have the opportunity of finding that next great adventure! 5 years, 8 months, and 4 days ago I put on Red and Khaki for the very first time. During my years at Target I had so many great opportunities and the entire time surrounded by incredible people. I found the love of my life at Target, it doesn 't get better than that!
When I was reaching inside the paper bag to find the unknown kitchen object brought by one of my classmates, my curiosity was building up. The moment I took a good grip of the object, I knew what it was. It was a simple bag clip. At first, I was slightly disappointed since I have expected to find something unusual and exciting. However, as I was examining the object, I realized that the complexity of the object did not truly matter.
The next day, I woke up in a room, there were mixed genders, so when I got up and dressed, I immediately began to look for the young boy I had met the day before. I found him, he was sitting along the wall next to an older woman who looked so much like my grandmother. Since I had realized that it couldn't be her, because she was supposedly “dead”, I realized I should just stop and ask the boy how he was. I walked over there, and the lady looked at me and said, “Alexis, is that you?” I immediately grabbed her and pulled her into my arms, it was my grandmother.
I was in my room on a cold, wet, happy day when I saw one of those cars as the humans call them pull into the driveway that i have never seen before. When I moved to Topeka long ago, my mom placed my brothers and I in daycare. I entered feeling anxious about having to meet new people. I took off my coat and decided to sit down, when suddenly I make eye contact with Auramae who had long hair that would always cover her face. She had a curious and wondered expression on her face when she noticed us. Even so, there was one person I noticed right away, she was behind a couch and I subconsciously thought if that she was in trouble.
