I went to my local Dollar Tree to make a menu for a family of four people. It was a little challenging to do so. My local Dollar Tree, which is located in Camden, Arkansas, do not have a frozen section like many other Dollar Tree stores. The Dollar Tree stores that has the frozen section has way more food selection then the Dollar Tree stores that do not. The frozen section different meats selection and a variation of breakfast foods.
As I look at this picture, it makes me think about the time I took responsibility for my little cousins. This picture was taken the day I took cousins to Chuck E Cheeses for the first time. My family lives in Oregon, but my extended family lives in California, all around the Bay Area that’s where my family is from there too. While I like Oregon, I try to find any excuse to visit California. So two years ago during spring break, my sister and I decided to go to California.
I woke up every morning before dawn to work a full day in agriculture and ended the day singing with kids from the hostel. The work was hard and exhausting, however at the end of our two weeks, I cried. Not for the work, but for the people whom I had worked with. We could barely speak to one another, but created a relationship out of hugs, smiles, and laughs. I learned a great deal about myself, about the strength I had and what I was capable of.
“We all have to grow up sometimes” is a fairly common saying. While childhood is a wonderful time when responsibilities are minimal, there comes a point in time when that easy, carefree lifestyle confronts you with some adult responsibilities. Usually, at some point of your high school career, a part-time job becomes a necessity. The older you get, the quicker you realize your desire to have some spending money. My job at Modell’s Sporting Goods as a part-time cashier, has provided me with an opportunity to earn a salary as well as teach me some valuable life lessons, such as responsibility, dependability, and customer service skills to name a few.
Sitting in the corner of the room waiting for the person who was about to give me a job and the one I will learn to despise. With my resume in one hand and a bundle of overconfidence in the other. I knew this job was mine. I was overqualified and had a plethora of experience in customer service. I was utterly most positive, I had got the job.
Life is short. This statement is made by many but taken seriously by so few. The song “I Hope you Dance” by Lee Ann Womack , and more specifically the lyric “When you get the chance to sit it out or dance/I hope you dance” (8-9) describes the decision of living life to the fullest. Life will not stop for anyone or anything so why not live life with such caution. No one can make the rain stop so why does one choose to sit inside waiting for the storm to pass.
I'm at the grocery store, watching this other kid try to win a prize from the claw machine when I hear my mom yell out for me to come over to her. I run back to aisle 7 to see my mom with a confused and stressed look on her face as she tried to figure out how to pay using her card and the people behind her slightly annoyed. I tried to tip toe to see what the machine said but ended up standing in the cart while my mom held it still as I interrupted what it asked to her. I press the buttons as she answers, trying to hurry to avoid irritating the people behind us. As we finished, I could hear my mom sigh of relief then we headed out.
The parking lot at Walmart was accessible. We went in the morning around 10:00 AM, so it wasn’t too busy with people. There were several handicap parking spots, lots of space for walking, and a pretty big cross walk. Once inside, the lightening is bright, and building is large. It’s a Supercenter, so it’s not limited to grocery items.
Many children have a strong fear of often irrational things. For me, it all started with Chuck E Cheese. He's a grown man (or woman) in a mouse suit, asking children if they're having a good time. On the creep-o-meter, thats gotta be a strong 9 at the least. I distinctly remember the first time I went there.
I came away from the interview feeling more positive about my own job situation. Like Jared, I am starting to view my current job as a helpful means toward my landing my dream job. It is amazing how seeing one person 's job satisfaction can increase your own sense of happiness at
Module 8: Leadership Model MGT 560: Leadership Development Colorado State University-Global Campus Professor: Tom Woodruff May 03, 2015 : Introduction The Case Study, The Food Terminal (A) has been considered to offer the Model adapted from Montgomery, Copley, and Associates (1996) as a solution for the issues arising out of the case study. A professional situation experienced by me has been considered too and the model employed while I was working as a Manager. Heart Mike mentioned that he was initially nervous while getting the responsibilities and was asked to meet the department managers, and that he could see the look of disappointment in their eyes. He had the heart to share that most of these managers
If it were not for me meeting my bosses at this job, I would probably still be the same anti social boy. Furthermore, since I got this promotion to manager, I had something on my shoulders that I had never experienced before, responsibility. This new responsibility to run an area of the car wash exterminated the laziness I had. I felt like had a purpose now and always wanted to be helping out or be active on the job.
Six months of struggling and persevering was supposed to pay off today. I had to get up. I slowly stumbled down the stairs gripping my lower back. The clock on the wall read 2:00 am. Perfect.
What do you want to have? says McDonalds cashier. I 'll have a ten piece chicken nuggets with a root beer, I say. It was another dark, rainy day in San Francisco. We came off to have our dinner just before we went to the basketball game. Homeless people were all around the McDonalds ready to cash in their daily earnings on their dinner.
Time passes really fast and I have already worked as a part-time waiter in this Japanese restaurant for two and a half years. Today is my last day at work and I have a lot to share, not only the most memorable experience I had while working, but also what I have learnt since I chose this job. I remembered that why I chose Japanese restaurant is due to my curiosity on Japanese culture and cuisine. I remember that I was energetic and excited as I reckon that being surrounded by all sorts of Japanese food should be fun.
