During my college career I have been doing a wide variety of writing. All of which have assisted shaping as well as molding me into an effective writer. Some of the classes that helped improve my limits to excel as a writer are my English 280 class, intro to Computer Science class, and lastly Juvenile Justice Class. I have done a few segments of writing in the three semesters of law enforcement class that I have taken here at WIU. Never would I have thought that the three major writing assignments that would shape and influence me into the writer I am today would come from of my LEJA classes, but they have.
After I acknowledged that one of my weaknesses when writing was grammar; I made sure to focus entirely on it so that I could ameliorate my writing skills. They 're two ways that I took the initiative the first step was to take notes from the research I made online, and the second step was to download Grammarly on my laptop; this application will help me see the mistakes that I had overlooked while
My history as a writer has been a bit of a struggle of slow development. From a young age I had a hard time with spelling and this is still a trouble area for me, even with the help of autocorrect. As I grew in age and as a writer my problematic area became not including enough nitty gritty details. My bad experiences that I recall would always involve the start of writing because I struggle with beginning paragraphs. Also, I tend to use the ending paragraph to just repeat myself, so overall my first and last paragraphs are usually shit.
I 've learned that reading and writing can take me any where I want it to go. I can explore my mind to go anywhere by imagination, by reading and writing. However,My reading and writing experience since I was a kid until now I still having a difficulty. When I was 3 years old my mom started me to learn how to read and write. At first, I 'm having a difficulty to read and write but my mom tried her best to taught me.
Tawney Nodland – As I look back over the past semester of English Composition, I realize that I have grown as a writer. Not onlyhas my understanding of the writing process changed, my whole attitude towards composition has too. This composition course has made a significant impact on my learning experience and has given me tools to take forward into my future educational and professional goals. Throughout this course, I have discovered things about myself as a writer and know some of my strengths and weaknesses. I now feel more prepared for future writing assignments, whether for work or for school.
My feelings toward writing aren 't good nor bad. Writing is something i have had difficulty with in my past. I have no problem brainstorming ideas on what topics to write my assignments on, even if i am given a prompt, but I do have difficulty with sitting down and planning my work. I always find myself getting stuck. So I almost never take the time out to plan out my ideas i come up with.
Throughout the term there has been many writing assignments —big or small— that helped reflect my writing process or the process itself. In the beginning of the course I felt like I was an “ok” writer, but lacked some skills such as: organization, sentence variety, and vocabulary. Also, I did not like to write and had a feeling of dislike when forced to write. I felt like I improved on everything I wanted and was seen throughout the semester. I know how to organize my ideas, the worksheets given in class to work on sentence variety really helped, and vocabulary was built on some level.
What Has Made Me Growing up, my grandpa, great-grandma, and great-grandpa all lived in Arkansas. In Jasper, Arkansas, a town of 453 people, had a small country environment. Everyone waved at each other driving past each other, if we knew them or not. My sister and my cousins love to go down there to visit! We loved visiting them, though there wasn’t a lot to do, we made fun in everything.
As I sit on the floor of my living room writing, I begin to fully recognize how great of an impact the adult figures in my life have on me. When I was younger my love for reading along with the encouragement of my teacher then made believe I wanted to be a writer. I have always loved reading, and this love pushed me to want to add my writing to the great world of literature. I knew it was difficult to be a writer but I was determined in a simple manner to accomplish this.

My name was given. I grew up with someone always giving me something, or taking it away. I’m different now. Where I grew up, there were always sandstorm during spring time. The whole sky would turn yellow and we all have to put on some scarves to fight against the sand.
Students with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher should have the opportunity to go to college in a state run college with free college tuition. If high school students had the opportunity to go to college with their tuition paid, they would be more likely to strive for excellence. Children of parents who graduated from college are more likely to go to college than children of people who only graduated from high school. People with just a college degree earn more over a lifetime than those who only graduated from high school.
At the start of this course I could barely write a coherent paragraph. I believe that I can now write a passable academic essay. I have grown much more confident in my writing skills. This class has been exceptionally helpful in teaching me how to write properly. I believe that I have gained a lot of useful information from this class.
What does writing mean to me? Writing means getting people engaged in your piece. It means people wanting to keep reading what you wrote. The biggest thing about writing to me is expressing your thoughts and letting your mind go. Using good word choice and having a strong voice in the writing is something that makes it good.
My Writing Experience In previous courses, my writing skills have been mediocre or just enough to pass the class. Throughout the duration of this course, I have written a variety of papers using different techniques and skills. Previously I would write assuming that the only audience would be my instructor. This course has helped me realize that there are many steps and skills involved with writing a well-organized and easy to comprehend essay.
