It was the last inning in our all-star game, and we were losing 10 to 8. Our team had 2 outs and we couldn’t get the third. Our pitcher was doing bad, throwing all balls, while all of us in the field were tired, ready to fall asleep at any moment. There goes another walk. They score again.
I’m willing and able to negotiate elements and I always take into consideration the ideas of my teammates. Out of those situations I also had to learn to be an effective communicator however, my skills were really put to the test during my year abroad as an exchange student. I arrived in my host country with only a few phrases under my belt. As a result, I learned to learn to be a good listener and to be precise in my speech.
Before this experience I was shy and the idea of working on Capitol Hill was extremely daunting. The idea of network for me was far-fetched, and I did not know if I had the confidence to talk to staff of government officials. Normally, I would not be nervous; however,
During the 2008 presidential election I fell in love with politics, allowing me to make the decision to major in political science and become a public servant. My dream job is to run and be elected to the United States Congress. When participating in the requirements for the Garnet and Gold Scholars Society, I realized that my experiences in services, leadership, and an internship has greatly complemented each other on the fact that they involve some form of politics and working with or for a public servant. This is because, I completed my internship requirement with the Al Lawson for Congress Campaign, I completed the majority of my service hours with the Florida Democratic Party, and I’m serving as the Director of Public Policy with the
I was very intrigued when I learned more detailed information about the Dream Act application. I commented to my supervisor that perhaps we could have a workshop at Pierce College and invite the counselors that were not able to attend the conference. My supervisor requested that I spoke to one of the outreach counselors that prepared this workshop. I spoke to him and he gave me websites with additional resources to guide dreamers. Also, he handed out his business card in case I had more questions.

I have excellent communication skills,
I have frequently tried to impact the lives of others through service, and found that each attempt has also had a profound impact on my own life. This phenomenon is especially true about my Congressional internship with the Hon. Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives. Working for Leader Pelosi, I learned that service is about the people who are served, and not just about abstract ideas. I learned to serve others best, not by acting as their savior, but rather as their partner- a partner that empowers them to live better lives.
I have also done an internship for John McCain where I would make around 500 phone calls a week to gain support for John
Communication is a natural occurrence between everyone around the world. People will use many different types of communication throughout their life, but interpersonal communication is the most common. There are many aspects of communication, and people do well or struggle in certain categories. During our in class activities I have realized that I do well in conversational effectiveness, conversational involvement, and appropriateness, but struggle in empathy. Interviewing a friend or family member is a great way to help you discover what aspects of interpersonal communications you are good at and what aspects you need improvement on.
Hello, I hope this email finds you well. As a result of many unpleasant findings during time spent working at Tris, I have no choice but to resign. I have been held responsible and reprimanded for things all resulting from incredibly poor training/no training at all, I have had my hours cut reprehensibly (down to half their original time on random shifts), and I am now the only Tris Manhattan Beach employee who has not received their schedule for the month of February. I find all of these to be incredibly disrespectful of my time.
The day began like any ordinary day except on this day a scene I envisioned for years was about to occur. Finding me trapped in a moment in space and time with a huge decision to make as my heart kept pounding [IT/DC]. Growing up I was fascinated with extreme flips. I longed to learn the front flip.
I walked out of my now ex-girlfriend’s house disappointed because I thought that this girl, Felicia, was the one. I walked out towards the road where my old car was sitting waiting for me to make the somewhat miserable drive back home. I stumbled into my car and began the drive down M-35 back to the small town of Norton, North Carolina. I couldn’t help but ponder what had gone wrong with Felicia to make her think that enough was enough. I knew I had to focus on the road, but I couldn’t because there were a million thoughts going through my head and I had tears in my eyes.
Been wondering if solar or wind power would be a good option for your home, if so which system does one go with, is there better options? The average power bill in Georgia is $123 a month, this past month at my house the bill was $208. Companies like Tesla are getting into the solar market, and some of the biggest solar panel companies are getting into the residential market here soon. Or, is wind-powered the best way to go? One can only get power from solar panels when the sun is out and a windmill can run 24 hours a day.
Through this life-changing experience, I decided that I’d like to continue representing the United States and to pursue a career in international relations. It also prepared me for the challenges of international travel and adjusting to host family dynamics. I place significant value in education and have worked hard to maintain strong academic achievement. My desire to learn has motivated me in my schoolwork and has prepared me for the vigorous study necessary for success in the NSLI-Y program. I am eager to further my language abilities to seek out experiences that will help me succeed in an international
