Personal Narrative: My Interview With Ms. Hoebee

I met with Ms. Hoebee to ask her some questions about her life. One of the questions I asked was based a major turning point in her life. She shared with me that she experienced this turning point at Millersville University. When she experienced this spectacular moment, it was the year 2004. She said that this experience represented a turning point in her life because it made her more independent and she was officially starting on a career pathway to become a teacher.

I also asked Ms. Hoebee about some background information on her life. She shared that she grew up in the Cornwall Terrace area. Her first pets were an orange goldfish and black-eyed goldfish. Her role model is her grandmother because she is the strongest person she …show more content…

Hoebee wanted a job that could help kids accomplish their goals. In her spare time, she likes to take hikes with her dog, go fishing with her dad, take nature pictures, care for animals, and go to the movies. Hoebee was when she said, “The teachers I had at Wilson when I went to school here really inspired me to pursue a career in education. I saw how much they helped others and I appreciated the time and effort they invested to help me learn.” This quote was significant to me because I also attend Wilson and I have had many teachers over the years who have cared about my education and me.

A specific story that Ms. Hoebee shared with me related to her goldfish when she was a little girl. She said that one of the fish died less than a day after her family got them. She was so upset, that she cried the entire day. Her dad thought the fish may have died because they were in a fishbowl, so he decided to set up a 20-gallon aquarium to give the remaining goldfish a better chance to live.
