February sixth was the day of my last middle school game. We were playing our rivals , Ledford middle school. The first time we played them we only lost by two points. In 7th grade, I transferred from Bryan Middle school to Visitation Catholic School and there was not enough room in the accelerated math program, which ultimately set me behind. In high school, I found myself bored in math and knew I needed to challenge myself, so I ended up setting up a meeting with the math department head and we discussed my options. Sophomore year, I ended up taking two math classes, which was not easy; double the test, quizzes and lessons! However, by taking two math classes, I was able to get myself into a higher math class which ultimately was my goal, and achieving it was an amazing feeling.
There it was, standing in the distance, a tall gloomy gray-colored building. With a few splashes of blue paint added to the dull cement to add color to what would otherwise be a lifeless building. This building was non-other than the one and only Stoller Middle School. I never referred to it as a middle school but more as a prison, it was full of rules that were put in place just to suck away any possible fun from a child’s mind. Maybe I didn’t like the place because I was suspended five times from it.
Yes. I graduated from the Texans Can Academy, an alternative high school for at-risk students. My level of preparation upon graduation was subpar. Since college was never part of my plans I never took an SAT or ACT. Throughout high school I was learning a foreign language and adapting to a new culture all while learning the required material in grade school.
When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters coming through high school before me.
I was still in Bookman Road Elementary school my 4th grade year, I had the same teacher who taught me for my 3rd grade year Mrs. Tammie Hunter and had the same best friends. When I ended my 4th grade year at Bookman Road I was told I’m going to a different school; being young I was very confused but when the new school year started I then realized what my mother meant by a different school. That morning when school was starting I was excited, I’m going to my favorite school around my friends I felt like my 5th grade year was going to be the best year but that didn’t happen. At the end of 5th grader we went to a tour at Incline Middle School. We were elated that we will be going to this school! We will be the new 6th graders. I felt so excited. We finally got there.
There was a time in my life where it was a bad time, but, it was also a good time. I was trying to play games at my old school, Roosevelt Junior High School. I got caught, and what came with it, is troubling . When I got Home my Mom and Dad greeted me with a bunch of things, saying I shouldn’t be doing that, and this and that, but, what also came with it is, my grades dropped, it was horrible, I just couldn’t keep up with all my homework.

Imagine that you have been trying something hard for so long and then finally just quit. I have always had ok grades here at Lowell Middle School. this year I started to go in the lower range of grades like D’s to C’s. But other years at lowell schools were not even close to years like this.
When coming to Arcadia High School I didn’t know what to feel like, would I say frightened, worried, or energized? For this reason I decided that I felt confused. I was a bit stressed at the thought of getting bad grades. I entered school and saw what looked like a beehive of people going where they needed to go. So like many freshmen on their first day I got lost looking for my first class, it was such a big school and many of the halls weren’t even in alphabetical order.
I have had a wonderful experience observing at Buffalo Creek Middle School so far. The teacher is excellent with her students and uses various activities to get the kids involved. One activity that was used multiple times over the two days that I was there was: Think, Pair, Share. The teacher would write a math question up on the board that went along with whatever topic they were going over that day and then she would ask the students to try to solve the equation. After everyone seemed to be finished solving the equation, it was time to pair up.
My first day at Larchmont Charter School, I was eager to meet new friends and start out a new life. I met my ELA and History teacher her name was Ms. Lorena and my Math and Science teacher her name was Ms. Emily. It was our first back to school night at Larchmont Charter School and my parents and I were talking to my new teachers about me having trouble with math, I always had a hard time with math it seems that I know the answer but I’m to afraid to get the answer wrong. My dad also told my new teacher’s that when I always use to take a test my teacher always use to point to the correct answer and helped me cheat.
