In the essay “High Tide in Tucson” by Barbara Kingsolver depicts the main point of the essay as Human Nature and evolution. During the essay Barbara has a hermit crab show up at her home. We see the hermit crab as a metaphor. The hermit crab is characterized as a person or animal, depending on the reader, who got into an unnatural state. Later we see Barbara leave her home to travel to a new state, there she live in a new place where she had to adapt to her new environment.
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS The Cleveland Cavaliers have a lot of math involved with their team. “Their points per game are 109.1, their opponents is 103.4 the difference is + 5.7, + meaning it’s in their favor.” “Their field goal percentage are .453, their opponents is .450, the difference is + .003.””Also their 3 point percentage is .384, their opponents is .357, the difference being + .027.”
In return for protecting the crab, the sea anemone receives food. Since the sea anemone will eat just about anything in the sea, it gets to eat whatever tidbits the hermit crab leaves behind. The hermit crab does the work of capturing dinner and the sea anemone cleans up the leftovers. It’s a steady food supply for the sea anemone. Since sea anemones have little to no movement, another benefit of hitching a ride on a hermit crab’s shell is getting exposed to a much larger area to scavenge for food.
Lesser celandine is an important invasive species to north east Ohio as it has become widespread throughout the forests promoting a decline in plant diversity. A proper method for control of lesser celandine has not yet been established and therefore it is crucial that a proper growing method is established to allow further research on the plant. This paper will elaborate on a plausible method for growing lesser celandine (Ficaria verna) in a laboratory environment. Throughout the introduction, a proper in depth explanation of what invasive species are and the known aspects of lesser celandine will be discussed. For the experiment, we used controlled lighting, soil, pots, and water reception, but the plants were divided by temperature (13 *C
“Rockfish come in more than 100 species and many different shapes, sizes and color patterns.” Typically, radiant! Few other organisms live here too.
Coming to Cal was great for me because it was the first time I had found a real LGBTQ community. Growing up I always moved schools so most of my friendships were fleeting and upon settling for high school the Gay Straight Alliance club was extremely small so coming to Cal provided a great sense of community and belonging. The summer before my first fall semester, I took a few classes to get a feel for the campus which ended up coinciding with Obergefell v. Hodges and SF gay pride which is where I made a lot of friends. Whether it is going for drinks in the Castro, dressing up for the Folsom street fair or going to social events at Oscar Wilde, Cal has provided an amazing sense of acceptance and a safe space. During the spring semester, I preformed
There are also two lobsters found in this area, the spiny lobster and the spotted spiny lobster. Lobsters can live for up to fifteen years old and grow up to three feet in length. They are also very similar to crabs and shrimp, all of them have a hard exoskeleton, lots of legs and really long antenna. The West Indian Manatee is most commonly in the keys in the winter season. Manatees can weigh between eight hundred to twelve
Visiting to a state that I have always wanted to go is to visit Colorado with my family; therefore, it was fun while going to that place. This happened last years’ summer. There are a few things that we did in that state. So before we went to Colorado, we had to drive from one state to another. Like we first drove from Illinois, our state, to Iowa.
I love making new memories and I’ve made countless going to Emerald Bay. Catalina Island was beautiful and we occasionally saw a few buffalo. I have gone scuba diving many times since I got my certificate, although the only place I’ve gone since California is in Edmonds Beach. The major part about the dive spot in Edmonds is the underground park. The underground park is great because I find new things every time I’ve gone down there.
I said to my friend Leah as we walked along the rocky shore. We began to head toward the looming cliffs in front of us, where the pools were. Our group leader Amanda explained how we were finding crabs for the octopus, but we barely paid attention as we began to look under just about every movable rock in sight. Annoyingly though, every time somebody found a crab they would almost shriek “I found a crab!!!!”and jump away.
The crab has usually equal sizes claws. This animals also have different diets. Even though both animals are omnivores. They eat different things.
I had music playing and I was climbing up rocks and found this one that sat up high and overlooked the shimmering teal water with the breathtaking sunrise resting on the horizon. I climbed up and after deciding it was sturdy enough I sat there until everyone had woke up. Then, it was time to go back to the dock to get ice, bait, and shower. For the rest of the day we all hung out on the water swimming, tubing, wake boarding, and me taking every possible chance there was to take a picture. This trip really showed me how much I love photography and need a better camera.
Growing up in California, my whole life has been around farming and like many others, it’s how I make a living. It’s now been at least a year, living through the Dust bowl and many people have migrated to California with the hope of surviving this crisis. Keeping my crops has become a struggle and that's what most people including me depend on. I am lucky enough to be able to pay my mortgages even though I’m not able to keep the land with the help of family. It’s practically impossible.
Do you ever stop and think about what the other person is feeling after an argument or when you tell them something life changing? My parents definitely didn't know what was going on in my mind. I was shocked when I heard my parents say that we were moving from Michigan; my home town, the state I was raised in and have great memories from to California, a strange and unknown place populated with strange people. I felt as if my little world had turned upside down and I would be the one to deal with it. The people responsible for this move would be my parents and my older brother.
Being very fortunate to travel, my wife and I decided to traveo to Hawaii. It was our first trip to that paradisaical place. The experience was fabulous from the very beginning. We flew to the island, and before the plane could land, we were amazed at beautiful blue and clarity of the sea. As we reached towards the beach we were able to see the bottom of the ocean.
