Walking into the sweat smelling weight room, you feel a blast of cool air from the old rusty fans. Lacing up your old weightlifting shoes, you step on the wooden platform and grip the smooth bar. Your tense muscles bulge as you lift the bar overhead. Silencing the spectators as your shoes slap the platform.
Finally, there’s usually some type of certified trainer participating in these workout groups to help and support you through your journey. After attending this workout group, I took it upon myself to approach 8 people walking out of the gym door that cold morning, to ask a series of questions. Personal experiences are go-to for me. I will share some of the answers that had an inspirational effect on myself: What are your goals and how do you plan to achieve them?
I have been going to Randolph Gymnastic Academy for almost a year. When I found out that we needed a mentor and we needed to spend up to 8 hours or more with them on our project. I decided that I needed to get started as soon as possible because I wouldn't have improved as much as I wanted in only eight hours. I started a month after we started writing our junior papers. Going there has improved my balance and agility.
Life’s as usual in my life until a date appeared on the calendar. March 9th: Track Team Tryouts. I thought about trying out for the team; and after a silent debate in my head featuring the pros and cons of being on the team, I decided to I’d run again this year. Although I knew I was capable of making the team , I also knew I had to get back in shape. “Let’s turn theses flabs into abdominis then.”
One of our first things we had to learn was how to bench press. First we started by watching the trainer showing us how our backs are supposed to be laying onto the bench and where to put our feet and how far we should hold the bar. After he showed us these techniques he had us get into groups and start training with just the bar until each person gets it and then we can start putting weights on the bar. It was difficult at first because it was something I wasn’t used to and I had never done anything like it in my whole life but when I got used to, it made the workout so much easier and it made my body feel better with me lifting the bar with weights on it because it gave my body advantages on lifting the weights, and after everyone got the right form for the bench press, we started to learn how to squat, we first started by watching and listening to what we should do when we are squating and how your body should look and how low you need to get to the ground in order to complete a set and in order not to hurt your body.
Walk-On I woke up in my hotel bed on a Saturday. This day could make me or break me. The scouts from Ohio State, Notre Dame, and the University Of Michigan would be there. If I perform like I did this whole season I will have a full ride football scholarship from these schools and many others.

My passion for track and field began with a Nike advertisement. At age ten, I opened the newspaper to a two-page spread of the hometown distance running legend Steve Prefontaine overlaid by a paragraph of inspirational copy. It concluded asking, “Where is the Next Pre?” The story of his small town Oregon roots, gutsy racing style, and ambition to be the best resonated with me like nothing ever had before. I told myself I was the next Pre, and then tore off for my first run through the streets of Eugene, Oregon – “Tracktown USA”.
The 30-minute session for each class seemed to fly by so quickly. Mr. Rowe barely had enough time to send off one class, before the next group of kids came barreling in with lots of energy. The beginning of the fifth grade session started with Mr. Rowe instructing the students to run a few laps around gym, and then changed up the movement by asking for a skip, grapevine, side step, and backwards skip. He then called for them to come and sit in their places, and all the kids knew their assigned
The first time I went to the weight room in the winter we had to max out. I was nervous and my heart was pounding out of my chest as if I were having a heart attack. I had to clean, bench, and squat. I started with squat and I was happy with my weight. Second was bench and it was my least favorite lift.
As contained in the guidelines of the assignment I must participate in the activity for 30 minutes and record my results. For this, I decided to go through a chest workout which is my favorite weight training workout. Like any other workout, I take about 10-15 minutes to properly warm up by doing what 's called a dynamic warm-up. A dynamic warm-up gets me focused on what 's to come and it also helps mitigate the risk of injury while lifting. Before this workout, I was very stressed about all of the studying I have to do before the term is over.
My fall walk started on a bright, and sunny day. The birds were chirping and flying through the sky. The wind was blowing the red, yellow and orange leaves off the branches of the trees. Walking through the grass, I heard the sound of dry leaves crunching under my feet. My neighbors had different fall decorations in their yard.

Well there we were we had one more team to beat to get the state champs title. I 'm the Oakland thunder 's half back and i 'm a line backer. I 'm 16, and 210 lbs i can hit. We just got here and i lead the warm ups we were doing hitting drills at that point, that 's when things went bad we all hear a snap and we all crowd around our quarterback.
2 minutes left. Channeling my inner Usain Bolt, I break into a sprint. Bolt probably doesn 't have to lug a backpack full of overbearing textbooks. I see my finish line, the green bench, and turn on the afterburners.
