The Artistic, Moral, and Inventive Progress of America A six month long fair with lights and technology that the world had never seen anything like, a charming, blue eyed killer, and the beautiful city of Chicago; all elements that make up the novel, Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. This book is a retelling of the events that transpired in the city of Chicago before, during, and after the building of the Chicago World’s Fair, also called the World’s Columbian Exposition. For the majority of the book, each chapter switches off between the production of the fair and the life of the killer H.H. Holmes (his real name being Herman Webster Mudgett). Holmes is considered by many to be America’s first serial killer, and his actions are covered
Communication between administration and staff is very important and it must be a two-way avenue. In order for staff to be part of the larger group, it is necessary to read and respond to all communication that requires attention. This is important for day-to-day activities along with practice drills and emergency procedures. I plan to keep this
Within my role as care Home Manager for Oakwood court Care Home, I work closely with the Senior Carers and Senior Managements. I attend regular meetings to ensure I am informed of any events, activities, compliments, or complaints but also of any changes in our resident’s condition. Within this I am expected to be aware of resident care, ensuring their needs are met. This encourages me to be aware of each resident personally and to continually monitor. I am required to promote and lead person centred care.
The topic of my capstone project is to educate other members of the team such as respiratory therapist, pharmacist, and radiology technicians about the scope of practice and the role of the nurse practitioners in different settings including the emergency department. Many of these co-workers have a lack of information about the skills, duties, and responsibilities of the nurse practitioners and sometimes this can delay treatment for patients due to clarifications for orders. If the roles of the nurse practitioners are explained and clarified to other members of the team the treatments for patients can be executed faster, but also “Advanced Nurse Practitioners can have a positive impact on other staff members by improving knowledge, skills

Miller, EdD. MSN, RN March 14, 2023 Professional Presence and Influence of the Advanced Nurse The practice of nursing is an art that combines science and compassion to provide excellent patient care. A nursing team that provides this level of care typically has a well-rounded nurse leader that guides them through difficult situations. Leaders need to frequently practice their social and emotional intelligence (SEI) power skills in order to manage complex situations at work and lead their team to success. Along with fine-tuning their skills, effective
1. As a young Fire Control Technician Third Class (FT3), I served under Fire Control Technician Chief (FTC) Chuck Thompson. Strong and proud, he stood like a massive oak tree in every room he entered; his mere presence demanded respect.
When I first started my job at Bob Evans, I thought I’d be shy and stay to myself. I didn’t imagine speaking to and making friends with of the servers, hosts, or dish tank operators. I was more like Shrek, I didn’t want people coming in my life. I didn’t want to annoy anyone or let them figure me out. However, I started to slowly peel back the layers of myself to others starting with what the book called the peripheral layer (page 59).
Professionally Not Professional Young people may be so naïve that they believe that it is professionally okay to send out an email to other professionals that uses slang, bad grammar, or misspelling within it. John Rumery, presenter of “Stop Talking. Start Writing. Get Moving;” told a room of young college students that if they are hoping to seek professional work after college, then they need to have great writing, analytical, and social skills.
But all could use more training in areas such as how to properly respond to yelling residents, one of the more common issues in many nursing homes in which those with dementia are cared
One day sitting in the firehouse I heard a loud screeching noise, as I looked out the window I noticed that a car had gone out of control and had struck a tree on the side lawn of the firehouse. I ran to the pump to get the first -aid kit and began to run out the front door around the side of the firehouse upon doing this I was met by a bystander who saw the collision at which point she pointed at me and said " you call 911" I slowed for a Sec and then continued to the car when I heard in the background her husband say " he is 911" I don't know whether it was the uniform or the large orange first-aid kit that tipped him off. Since firefighters’ devote their lives to helping other people, it can be a very rewarding career. In addition,
Circular personality comes with few shortcomings and my major pitfall is that due to my considerate and empathetic nature people are able to take advantage of my decision making skills by manipulating me and having decisions ruled out their way. There are ways which can help reduce this unscrupulous decision making by letting those people know that no matter what my decisions are, they will always be made based on fair judgment and not preferentialism. In the first week of lectures we covered about professional disposition. Professional disposition is vital to be prosperous in any career pathway.
Every day at my work starts off as normal. I walk up the stairs to punch in my four-digit code, and I get to work begging people’s groceries. Asking my same set of questions over and over again man dated by the company. Did you find everything you were looking for today, would you like paper or plastic, any fuel saver, coupons, or discounts? After those we then had to wish everyone a happy day, even if we hated them.
Overworked. That’s the closest word that I could use to describe this week. I feel like this journal is going to be about me just bickering, yet there is some stuff you might want to read about. First of all, I have been sleeping three hours this week because of upcoming midterms, quizzes, and assignments due. I am sleep deprived and mentally drained and as my second year in college I have never had my life drained out of my body like a passing shadow.
My Worst Job When I was sixteen, one of my middle school friends named Jessica was a shift leader at dunkin she wanted me to work with her for the summer to have some extra money. It seemed like a lot of fun for the first week or so, but it turned out to be the worst job of my life. My job was the front cash register. This was fun I actually enjoyed it
