Hello, I am Connor Love. I am writing this letter as a soon to be former student of Katy Leuschen 's "Waves of Change" writing 111 class. The first semester of my collegiate career has taught me many valuable lessons, from learning how to better succeed academically to how to deal with the flu without my mother. The lessons I have learned in writing class have not only helped my writing abilities grow, but also have helped me improve in other aspects of my life. During "Waves of Change" I learned how to revise my work, more importantly, that uncertainty during the writing process is normal, and revise my thinking.
The age old question was posed by grandfather. “What do you plan on studying at school?” That question had always haunted me, mainly because the answer never seemed to impress anyone. I’ve always loved writing– it’s pretty much the only thing I’m passionate about. So to me, it only seemed logical to study creative writing.

I always knew I enjoyed writing from the little things as a child. Like when I used to jot down my abc's and 123's, enjoying myself as I tried to stay in between the lines so I could develop perfect handwriting like my mother's. Or the excitement I got when I was rewarded with doodling on the board at the end of class because I stayed on the green sign throughout the day, instead of yellow or red. Although, thinking back, I would have to say the best moment was the first time I had the choice of either writing with a pen or pencil. I obviously chose the pen, and when I got to use it I instantaneously fell in love with the feeling of it so easily gliding across the page.

My history as a writer has been a bit of a struggle of slow development. From a young age I had a hard time with spelling and this is still a trouble area for me, even with the help of autocorrect.
