“Wade in the water. Wade in the water, children. Wade in the water. God’s going to trouble the water,” the slaves sang as they did their daily work. Link
Outside of the hotel, snow litters the ground and wind overwhelms anyone who steps outside. “I hear it in the wind’s icy fingers scratching against
The coldness woke me up. My toes felt numb from the frigid December air and my body ached. I was in my studies, passed out after working on a few homicide cases that ultimately linked back to one guy. I sat up right, yawned, and stretched my arms out as wide as I could, knocking a few of my Archie’s Comics off the shelf and to the wooden floor. I’ll pick that up later.
For all of the summer simulations, I was able to come on time and maintain a professional behavior with my peers and patient. For communication, I find myself being confident and relaxed compared to how I felt at the beginning of the summer simulation. For example, during subacute, my partner and I was able to provide patient education on the BIPAP machine to a patient actor and during the simulation, I never felt uncomfortable or nervous while delivering the education. For this week I would give myself a score of 4.
“Memories of our lives, of our works, and of our deeds will continue in others,” eloquently spoken by Rosa Parks. I have grown and had a stellar time in 5th grade. I have gone to places I have never gone to before. I have done things I have never done before. Three of the most memorable moments I had in 5th grade was going to Catalina Island, going to the California Science Museum, and reading “Shoe Dog.”
All three sources share similarities in that they all address the contribution that collectivism should have on a society and how economic equality is pursued through the principles of collectivism. Fundamentally, all three sources have understanding of both liberalism and collectivism, both of which have a place in today 's modern society. Source one and two both discuss on how an individual can contribute in a collective to promote economic equality. Source one, two and three appear to establish a more left leaning side on the spectrum. Therefore, they would be supporting collectivism.
Weekend at Discovery Cove It was a warm sunny day at Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida with my Grandma,Aunt,Uncle, and Sister the air was warm , but the breeze felt refreshing against my skin. It was cool that I can just walk right into the lazy but I would have the walk all the way to the other side of the park. Making a decision if I should go to the reef where the stingrays were or stay at the cabana. My decision was to stay at the cabana.
The wind blows in my face, and I can smell the fresh sea air. However, it is but little relief to the seasickness I am feeling on this crowded ferry with tons of other 7th graders. At least I am with friends. Kiersten, Holly, Jillian, Kayli, Kristen, Kailynn, and I are all going to the Catalina Island Marine Institute. It was a long drive to California, and now we’re on this boat.
The sun began its assent, illuminating the soon to be dreary winter day as well as the few vibrant, resilient leaves still clinging to life upon the trees. I would often refer to these resilient leaves as foolish for wishing to cling to such a life, yet I would continue to admire their beauty despite their condition. The sun’s rays of warmth and comfort swept across my face bringing me to consciousness to appreciate its radiance and everlasting life. I reluctantly swung my feet around and stood on my wooden floor to start my day. The wood felt most coarse in the morning, especially during those cold winter months, which gave me a greater sense of awareness and an easier transition from dream to reality.
I felt the excitement jolting through me when my Mom told me she and I were going to Panama City Beach, Florida for a week. We had wanted to go the since school dismissed for summer break, but had no luck finding a place to stay. Three days before we were due to leave, my mom found a good price for a beachfront condominium for the week of June eleventh through June eighteenth. I had been to Panama City Beach before, but I always enjoy returning because it is always a good atmosphere and lots of fun to explore. On my vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida this summer, I enjoyed time with my mom, going swimming, and encountering people from all over the United States.
It was December 7, 1941 in Honolulu Hawaii, It was a hot humid day. Charles and his girlfriend Darlene thought it would be a good day to go on a picnic. Charles had the day off ,but had to come back at four for the ceremony at the harbor. Darlene was fine with that because she had to go to work at the hospital at four thirty anyway. The day before Charles and his friends, Timmy, Richard, and Noah were all talking about how beautiful the hawaii beaches are, “Charles why don't you take Darlene on a picnic or something”?
Peeling away the outer layer of the warm willy wonka chocolate bar held in my hand so tightly that the heat emerging from my palms slowly began to melt the delectable treat lying before me. As I peered behind the bar I saw a glimmering golden light flashing and a chill rode down my spine. It had been over a month since the contest had been announced and over 50 years since the last time the golden ticket contest had been held and much to my disbelief I was a winner. I sprinted through the door of the candy store and out to the bitter cold winter air and i ran all the way home as the light snow kissed my skin. I climbed the stairs up to my family's two room apartment and burst into the room with a joy that could be felt from a mile away.
The morning was near, as I, old De Lacy shroud a blanket over my shoulders, grabbed my guitar and hobbled to a seat outside. The winter’s air was cold and wet; it worked its way through layers of clothing, attacking any uncovered skin with slashes of ___. The more I moved, the more heat I lost, so I sat, warming to the day as I gathered my thoughts on the events of yesterday. As I sat there the morning sun opened upon the land; its warmth spread over the surface, forcing the cold of night outwards, away to the heavens.

I feel it radiating into my blood, as my heart skips a beat. Soon, enlightened by a beating pair of wings effortlessly moving up and down, more fragile than the glass that once was sitting on the edge of the table. The fluttering pair of painted silk wings circles my front, as another pair comes into sight, creating a delicate breeze that brushes past my quilted cold cheeks. I manage to smile at the picturesque view in front of me, sending a warm satisfaction to my body as it sparks my heart and floods my eyes with tear-filled blur.
