Personal Narrative: Raven Court

My application would not be complete without mentioning my favorite place in the world, Raven Court. The little cul-de-sac is home to my two brothers, my one sister, and my best friends. Less than thrilled, I moved in the summer going into third grade. While this new house actually fit my entire family, I did not want to change schools or leave my friends behind. Fitting in was not my forte, as I was the only girl in all of Clifton Park Baseball and could never pick out a matching outfit. Thankfully, I was certainly not the only odd duckling on the street. The first day I moved in, a little four year old boy in a Spiderman costume welcomed himself into my backyard and demanded a tour of the house. His little brother, Colin, followed shortly behind, asking my parents, “Where Timmy go?” I gave both the boys a tour and they invited me to see Cars with them. Admittedly, going to the movies with a four year old and two year wasn’t the coolest thing for an eight year old to do, but I was happy to be accepted in any way. …show more content…

Paris and I soon became thick as thieves, meeting each other every morning in the middle of the circle at 9 o’clock. We would do the most ridiculous things, like fashion a zipline out of rope and a hanger. The other four would join us sometime later, and my siblings would pop in every once in awhile, if they were bored enough to hang around with us little ones. Capture the flag, wiffle ball, cops and robbers, and the not-so-occasional skinned knees filled the long, summer days. We even had a fort in the woods behind Connor’s house. We all got poison ivy, but at least we got it
