Growing up in San Diego was fun. The beach was near my high school and it was the ultimate after school hangout. At the beach, you could enjoy the best homemade ice cream at Mootime Creamery. When my friends were hungry, we would head out to the closest taco shop. My favorite dishes are rolled and fish tacos.
Once we all had our food and we were all at the table we all agreed that the tacos they made that day were really nasty which kind of made some of us upset because we were actually hungry. After lunch, we all went and sat back in the classroom for the rest of the school day. Towards the end of the school day we all went to grab our luggage from the security room which had been checked by now and security took what we couldn’t have because it wasn’t safe. We then all took our luggage to this white van which was going to bring our stuff towards the dorm so we wouldn’t have to walk our entire stuff across the campus. Once we made it to the front we grabbed our things and they showed us to our rooms, after getting settled the rest of the day was nice we all met new faces and just had
At first, I followed the edge of our property line until I came to a little trail in the weeds that looked like it been made by a deer or another good-sized animal. It descended gently down the escarpment at first, but then I had to quicken my step as it became a little steeper, eventually taking me right down to the Genesee River. The river itself wasn’t as wide and as deep as I thought it would have been, and in spots it looked like you could cross without needing the aid of a bridge, the water perhaps coming up as high as my waist. But that was most likely because it was August and the heat wave we’d been experiencing had the area gripped in a drought. I had followed the river’s rocky shoreline for a little ways while listening
I was born on a Navy base in San Diego a little before two in the mourning. I am the youngest with two older sisters Shauna and Cassie. We basically lived two-thirds of our childhood on military bases stationed throughout the United States of America. My father being in the Navy meant we moved a lot I have lived in New Orleans, Pensacola, and San Diego and finally we settled in Tomball, Texas which is thirty minutes away from Houston. I went to a lot of different schools during my childhood an sometimes we would move before the year is up which made it difficult for me in school.
An event that has influenced me greatly has definitely been the mission trips I partake in every summer. I've went on one each summer starting in 2015, in which i hope to continue this for many more years. Throughout the many trips I've taken, I have learned that everyone deserves the same amount of help and respect. You never know just how far the little acts you do can go for others. My first trip was to Virginia Beach, I first thought that it would be all fun and games.
Coming to Cal was great for me because it was the first time I had found a real LGBTQ community. Growing up I always moved schools so most of my friendships were fleeting and upon settling for high school the Gay Straight Alliance club was extremely small so coming to Cal provided a great sense of community and belonging. The summer before my first fall semester, I took a few classes to get a feel for the campus which ended up coinciding with Obergefell v. Hodges and SF gay pride which is where I made a lot of friends. Whether it is going for drinks in the Castro, dressing up for the Folsom street fair or going to social events at Oscar Wilde, Cal has provided an amazing sense of acceptance and a safe space. During the spring semester, I preformed
HONK! BEEP! SQUEAKK! Every which way of me, cars are honking and breaks are squeaking but I don’t care because I see it, the best amusement park ever… Cedar Point!
I would have fallen to the floor instead. When I was finally able to gain my composure, I got up to go to my mom’s room so she could check out what was wrong with me. When I got to her room, I told her what had happened and she put her hand on my forehead and. “You have a fever. Well there isn’t much you can do sadly you can’t go no more.
Hi everyone! It 's Ericka. This upcoming spring I have the opportunity to finish my middle school years with a over night 8th grade field trip to Boston. This field trip is to be a lot of fun and lasts a few days, but it 's going to be a bit costly. My school is trying to run a fund raiser to help pay some of the expenses for this trip.
I felt the excitement jolting through me when my Mom told me she and I were going to Panama City Beach, Florida for a week. We had wanted to go the since school dismissed for summer break, but had no luck finding a place to stay. Three days before we were due to leave, my mom found a good price for a beachfront condominium for the week of June eleventh through June eighteenth. I had been to Panama City Beach before, but I always enjoy returning because it is always a good atmosphere and lots of fun to explore. On my vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida this summer, I enjoyed time with my mom, going swimming, and encountering people from all over the United States.
A holiday I wish we would have is a sequel to Halloween. I think it will be the middle of January and October. Just to remind us, Halloween is only a few months away. If we plan out how much candy to eat and when to eat it, we will never run out of chocolate at home. I am going to try to tell you everything that happened today.
My Trip to Florida It was a cold winter night in Upstate New York. My mom and dad were enjoying a cup of coffee, my sisters were playing video games, and I was editing a few pictures on my computer. My mom brought up the idea of a vacation. She said” We haven’t been on a vacation for a long time”.
Darting through the long, bright hallway, I laughed outrageously with my friends while trying to get to the noisy, yellow buses. It was April __ and the students at Southern Nash Middle were finally being released from all classes. Everyone was extremely ecstatic because we out for a week for spring break. As we loaded upon the bus, everyone jumped in their seats and began talking about their plans for the week. I talked to my friends who sat across from me and listened to them talk on and on.
A vacation is the best when you are with your best friend and family. Myrtle Beach has all kinds of things you can do from cool activities to boardwalks and finally being in the ocean. A vacation has a lot of fun things to do and to see when your there sowe did a lot of stuff. One thing about Myrtle beach was the cool activities. First, we went to the sky wheel, it was so high up you could see everything.
A large part of the driving force behind my interest in both Catawba’s environmental degrees and the Environmental Stewards Program is frustration. All too often it seems like people don’t stop to consider the impact their actions can make on the surrounding environment. Well water in neighborhoods similar to my own is poisoned by new developments that spray chemicals in order to obtain the “perfect lawn,” power companies bulldoze entire areas of forests along creeks and rivers with no regard for the destruction of those waterways and the species that depend on them, and those same new developments I’ve mentioned inevitably doom themselves by increasing severe flooding. My goal is to research and raise awareness about issues while helping the
