Darting through the long, bright hallway, I laughed outrageously with my friends while trying to get to the noisy, yellow buses. It was April __ and the students at Southern Nash Middle were finally being released from all classes. Everyone was extremely ecstatic because we out for a week for spring break. As we loaded upon the bus, everyone jumped in their seats and began talking about their plans for the week. I talked to my friends who sat across from me and listened to them talk on and on. ¨What are you doing over spring break?¨, asked Jasmine, who has been my best friend since 5th grade. ¨I haven’t really made any plans yet or given much thought to it, I guess some plans may become made while the week moves on¨, I replied, while sounding really unsure. “Are you pregnant?!” I blurted out loudly before my mom could continue on with the news. I earned a small chuckle from my aunt and cousin, who were being unusually quiet. I focused my attention back to my mom and she looked at me in udderly shock, but told me no. For some reason, it felt like a huge weight was being lifted off of my shoulders. “Well as you know DeManuel and I have been together for a while and we are going to move in together to be a big family,” my mom said as calm and collected as she could. A few seconds later after hearing the news, I heard sniffling coming from the left of me, and it was my aunt and cousin were crying, I had so many thoughts running throughout my head that it took me a minute to actually wrap my head around that we were moving, “We’re moving?!”, I asked loudly. All of a sudden the smiles from my mom and DeManuel dropped. I felt like I had crashed into a moving train at full speed, and I knew that the train was going to carry me far away from my friends and
