Personal Narrative: Star Wars And Legos

Bucket of bolts Lego sets are sold in most stores that sell toys. They contain a box with an image in front which what you are able to build with the provided pieces inside the box. Legos follow the concept of building blocks that snap on top or bottom of each other, which can create figures, buildings, or anything that you can imagine with the correct amount of effort and compassion for giving meaning to the object that’s being built. As a child, I had a craze over Star Wars Legos. I would watch the Star Wars movies and the spectacle of the starships battling it out in space would capture my heart entirely. I could have not imagined how lucky I was being granted such a family. However, growing up all I received from my brother was resentment and aggression. I would always ponder and question his motives, but I would later doubt that his motives were hostile because I was raised to believe he loved me. I grew up scared and my only escape would be building Lego Star Wars sets. I would continuously build and create sets and replay scenes from the movies with my creations. As I grew older, I would later withdraw from building Legos and grow weary of the resentment of my brother. My escape from the resentment of my brother with Legos had no longer been effective. I accepted this harsh reality that older siblings are obligated to feel remorse towards their younger brothers or sisters. On my 17th birthday, my older brother decided to buy a Lego set for me. This particular set was a set that I had been dreaming of as a child but thought that it would never become a reality due to the price of this set being very expensive for my family’s budget. It was the Millennium Falcon, one of the greatest Legos sets there is. But, the aggression and resentment I had received from my brother the years before made me feel otherwise towards this set.
