Hope’s class was. The hallway felt never-ending, seeing all the unfamiliar faces made me nervous, but excited at the same time. It was an unusual feeling, but I made it to the class, took my seat, and waited patiently for the teacher to begin. My first new friend was named Cameo, she came up to me and introduced herself, she appeared eager, but I could tell she was just as nervous as I was. I was reluctant to speak to a lot of people due to my speech impediment.
Yet, I also felt excited and happy to be there, to be with other children and be at school. But, being an immigrant child at the time, I did not understand the culture. As my solution, I followed what my classmates did without any knowledge of whether it was right or wrong. Without even understanding what I did, I made many mistakes and got into a heap of
On my first day of school, I was terrified because I knew no English, everyone looked different, and I didn't know anyone. It was very hard to make friends because I didn't understand what they said and I couldn't communicate with them.
My heart was pounding in my stomach also not wanting to get judged. I knew school was mandatory so facing my fear was sadly going to happen. On my first day of school in Canada, a girl sitting across from me was surprised at my identity of being an international student, “Are you not Canadian? You have a pretty good accent!” Well, I was born and raised in the old imperial city of central Beijing, China. I grew up looking upon the magnificence of the forbidden palace, imagining that probably one of my ancestors was one of the constructors of this amazing art piece. As a child, I wrote Chinese calligraphy with brushes, and I learned hundreds of ancient poems and The Analects.
Scott’s first day of high school was not what he expected it to be like. He woke up, had breakfast, and was the first person to arrive at his bus stop. Slowly, more people arrived, like Mouth, Julia, and the big kids. The bus finally came and everyone got on it. After about twenty minutes, they reached the school.
It was inspiring to hear their stories and the barriers they overcame. At their age, I was worried about my romantic relationships and the latest pop culture. I cannot imagine having to learn a new language, being in a new country, and struggling to balance between my family’s culture and a completely different culture at school. A common theme in their stories was receiving support from school professionals. Their stories are prime examples of how school professionals can impact a student’s experience and contribute to
First Day of School Sherwood Middle School’s first official school day started Wednesday, September ninth, at 8:00 a.m. Students had different emotions about school, some were nervous, excited, and/or sad that summer ended. Also, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders had an assembly talking about what they expect out of them. The first day was marvelous! Different emotions were going around the school.
John’s first day of school started off rough for him. All he wants to do is play basketball and once the season starts he thinks he’ll fit in better. He needed to stay on top of school and was studying at a starbucks. A girl came in and he thought she was very attractive, he went up to her and started a conversation. He asked her to hang out somewhere else some other time.
C H A P T E R 1 Bella's Pov Being new in schools has never been easy for me. You see my parents are those people who like to go to different places and see what it's like living there and stuff. So as you already probable guessed it, I'm in and out of schools 24/7. Meaning I don't like to make friends because once I get to doing so my parents have already found another place to go to.
The first day of elementary school is a monumental memory for children and their parents. The aroma of cinnamon rolls filled the air as my mom prepared me for my first day as a kindergartener. My pink sparkly bookbag sits next to the door beside my new light up velcro tennis shoes. My mom opted to buy me the velcro shoes because she did not know how I would be able to tie my shoes utilizing only my left hand. Chris is my older brother and he was going to be starting fourth grade at Highland Elementary School.
The first day of middle school for me was both terrifying and exciting. I made a lot of new friends within the year. I remember the first day very well. I had woke up at 5;30 a.m. I was extremely tired.
Walking into school today was supposed to be normal. Like every other day, instead I was mobbed by almost the entire school. OVer in the corner was the nerd, although I am sure that she is anything but a nerd, kinda. “Omg, he is so cute!” “Girl he is mine!”
I was almost there. I had been nervously anticipating this day or a couple months now, but the time had finally come. As I sat on the plane, my thoughts wandered to what my new life would be like. My parents had sent me to the United States to attend an American high school. I was grateful for receiving this opportunity, but also fearful of what if might hold because I wasn’t great at English and the words

Stepping foot on the campus wasn’t even the beginning, taking the school bus in the morning is where the first taste of being a freshmen and actually starting and being an high school student. I started to get really nervous and a sense of reality hit me. Walking towards the bus stop all I see is a huge group of high school students waiting around for the bus, calm and cool as I try to stay to be I approach the waiting area not knowing what to I’m getting into.
