Personal Narrative: The Oldest Out Of Young Children

Karen woke up from smelling breakfast being made on the old wood stove in the kitchen. Her sister Tana would normally be up waking the younger kids up for school a little before Karen would get up. Being two of the oldest out of eleven children, they had shared a lot of the responsibility with getting the younger kids up. As they woke the other droopy eyed, sleepy kids, they would slowly make there way down to the kitchen. They could hear the eggs sizzling while the fire from the wood stove popped every once in a while. Dad would be sitting at the end of the table eating his favorite meal. Eggs, toast, and spam. He would eat that as often as he could.
As soon as breakfast was over, Karen and Tana would clear the table and do the dishes while the younger kids got finished getting ready. The two girls would head out to water pump and get enough water for doing the dishes. Since they didn’t have indoor plumbing they had to do this every day for different reasons. All of the children kissed their mother and started walking to school. They attended the Felch school and enjoyed their walks everyday. Karen and Tana were cheerleaders for the boys basketball team. The especially loved cheering when the faced their rival team Channing. They had some cheers that were meant just for Channing.
After school, they would sometimes walk to the Felch general if they found some loose change in the couches that day. Everything in the store was behind glass cases. There would be little finger prints on the glass from where little kids would press their hands and face against the
