About 10 a year, thousands injured, and even more deaths. What could cause these devastating numbers? It could be many things, but this is the work of a hurricane. A hurricane is a tropical storm. It has the scale rating from one to five. The storm is not considered a hurricane until it has the wind speed of 74 miles per hour. So you should stay away, and make sure you have all the supplies you will need. Before, the hurricane you are going to want to make sure you have plenty of supplies. The first thing I suggest buying is a backup generator. This way in case your power goes out you will be able to power your supplies. Who knows, your power could be out for days. Then you should go to the store and buy a few bags of ice to put in a cooler. That way, in case your power goes out you will have a way to keep some of your items cold. You should definitely stock up on a couple of cases of water. That way you and your family will have water to drink. I suggest filling up two buckets of water so your family will be able to flush the toilet.
