We were a rag-tag band of misfits. Cody, was an experienced gamer, Jessica, was a quick thinker, Jenny, my cousin and an amazing strategist, and I was the take-charge leader. Four others players who had varying talents, rounded off our team. We were ready to combine our skills to take down our adversaries. We were blood thirsty wolves, ready to feast. Winning the game would be the only way to fill the gaping hole in our hearts. I looked over and noticed Jessica getting ready in the church gym with her gun in hand, ready to win the game. We had divided our team into two groups of four. Alpha team would have three people advance and one stay back and hide. Jessica was the last alpha team member. Bravo team would stay back protecting the flag and the last member of alpha team. Alpha teams job was to go and destroy as many players from the red team as possible. We would send Jessica, once some of the red team died. Jessica would rush up, capture, and bring back the red flag of victory. Gleaming through the cracks of the doors, I saw the brightness of the other room shining into the pitch black arena. Blue and red lights shone from the barrels, as we pulled the triggers on the bulky guns. "Cody, move over to the right!"
