A day in the summer there was a football game played at Kimberly’s turf located in Kimberly Wisconsin. A 7th grade Kimberly football team was playing another great team called the Neenah Rockets they had a massive running back that had this bushy mustache and they had a pretty fast good throwing quarterback. The Neenah rockets had great talent but so did Kimberly. This game was going to be a great one, cold fans crowded the stands eating fresh popcorn and very chocolatey hot chocolate in very white cups as the game started it was 0-0 after the first 4 and a half quarters and in the last minutes something big happens when we are on defense… WORK ON Before the game started we were in warm ups doing frankenstein's, lounges, karaoke, and four’s etc.
It was six o 'clock at the Friendswood junior high mustang field I was playing strong safety and I had to cover the extra receiver they brought out by the snap I was already beating my man and the next thing I know the ball was sailing my way straight to me. I am 13 years old and I am on the Friendswood junior high C-football team I am a second string slot receiver and starting strong safety
I believe in sisterhood. Being the captain of the team comes with leadership and great expectations. This particular leader was All- district, northeast, and state when she ran into a roadblock against a very important opponent. In the past year St. Fredrick girl’s basketball team wasn’t the best.
Win or Lose As humans , we have to lose to win. Life may not always be fair or in our favor but we have to let it run its course. Regardless of how long it takes; devotion, spontaneity, and heart can bring forth an opportunity we would have never been. People can not sit in one place and do nothing and still expect to go somewhere.
A team in Concord, Calif., has had a win streak of 151 games. North Atlanta High School 's team can barely pull off three wins this season. The Spartans have had plenty of perfect seasons. North Atlanta closest time ever in the school’s history was to getting a perfect season was going 7-3 in 2010.The team from California doesn 't know the meaning of defeat. North Atlanta barely knows the feeling of winning.
On a cold, frosty, snow cover night in November at Welcome Home Stadium, was when my life changed. That night, two teams played for the chance to call themselves champions of 6th-grade football. All game, my team and I battled against the mighty Wilmington Hurricanes. We fought all game to win and finally we got the ball back with less than under a minute left and down by 4 points. The crowd was quieter than a church mouse as my coaches huddled us up during a timeout, and in that timeout, my coaches looked to me for answers.
As a junior I moved from Ryan HIgh School to Braswell High School due to my zoning with the new school. Braswell High School was a brand new high school. I attended the first year it was open in which the highest grade level they offered was juniors. Most of the students moved from their old high schools to Braswell were devastated due to the strong school spirit at their previous schools. The administration at Braswell attempted to inspire new school spirit in all the students especially the junior class.
The Thursday night lights beamed down on me as kickoff approached. It was the last game of the 8th grade football season and the last chance to make my mark on a personally rather ordinary season. We were playing Celina, a team known to be a powerful opponent. I was on the kickoff return team, playing on the far left side of the field and on that particular night we were set to receive the kick. The referee’s whistle pierced the warm and soundless autumn air.
The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
I ran in my middle school’s track team for two years. I ran the mile, one hundred meter dash and triple jump. Out of all the events I participated in I absolutely despised the mile, I hated the aftermath the most. The feeling of my lungs burning, legs aching from the long run and the heavy asthmatic breathes. Although the mile had several cons, I loved the challenge and I was too stubborn to quit.
A couple weeks ago I attended the Homecoming Basketball game against William Jessup. Funny story is that I had told my roommate about the basketball game and she also wanted to attend the game, so the day of the homecoming basketball game we went to eat at A-I’s cafeteria, since it is closest to the student Rec center and after we finished eating dinner and of course serving ourselves some ice cream we began to walk to the student REC center. I noticed that it was fairly empty and once we arrived the student REC center was closed. We stood there looking at eachother and I automatically checked my phone to make sure that the game was that day. I soon came to find out that the game was not that day, but rather the next day.
In life, even though we are told not to do so, a lot of us “count our chickens before they hatch”. We make assumptions on things before they happen because we believe that if something seems so likely, it will happen. Well, that is what my Liberty High School cross country team did my sophomore year. Going into the year, we not only knew we were going to be strong, we thought other teams were going to be weak. The top teams from the state finals the previous year had all lost most of their key pieces.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Chino Hills High School was out of power, resulting all the students got released early. I walked into the school campus about to sit at the normal table that I wait at. I usually get to school thirty minutes early because of traffic. I did notice something was off when I sat down. The area where I sat was a bit darker than usual.
In 7th grade, I transferred from Bryan Middle school to Visitation Catholic School and there was not enough room in the accelerated math program, which ultimately set me behind. In high school, I found myself bored in math and knew I needed to challenge myself, so I ended up setting up a meeting with the math department head and we discussed my options. Sophomore year, I ended up taking two math classes, which was not easy; double the test, quizzes and lessons! However, by taking two math classes, I was able to get myself into a higher math class which ultimately was my goal, and achieving it was an amazing feeling.
The United States is suffering from an obesity epidemic and the problem is not going away any time soon. Why? For starters, we have become a nation obsessed with instant gratification. We no longer have to walk to the video store, we can order Net Flix, which comes in the mail and all you have to do is mail it back when you are done! So instead of burning 30 calories by walking a few blocks to Block Buster, we become couch potatoes.
