This weekend we get to watch a Detroit Lions game! We’re driving down to the West branch to spend some time with our friends. I can’t wait it’s going to be so much fun! My family traveled down near West Branch where we stayed for the weekend with our friends, Brent, Ronda, and their son Brendan.
Dark and chilly Night, walking back home from the basketball. Winning 108-95 against Apopka high school. Couldn’t bare the cold, going through my cheerleading bag, I start to take out my jacket, until I start hearing foot steps behind me. Looking back, seeing a dark figure walking towards me. Picking up my feet, gradually start to walk faster.
Basketball is a game of chess. It is non stop running shouting and yelling, just like my championship tournament for my Hoover basketball team. I was tired before the tournament even started because I had already played a game earlier in the morning at 9:00 am at Chelsea Elementary School with my Berry team. After that game I went to play in a tournament for my Hoover team at 11:00am.
A team in Concord, Calif., has had a win streak of 151 games. North Atlanta High School 's team can barely pull off three wins this season. The Spartans have had plenty of perfect seasons. North Atlanta closest time ever in the school’s history was to getting a perfect season was going 7-3 in 2010.The team from California doesn 't know the meaning of defeat. North Atlanta barely knows the feeling of winning.
The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
Erik and I first met back in kindergarten playing baseball for the highly recognized Eagles organization. Erik was third base, I played shortstop, and from that point on a friendship was bonded. We both attended Cherry Hills Village Elementary School through 5th grade. Seeing how we shared all the same activities, it was hard not to become friends at such an early age. During the week we would have class, baseball or football practice, and detention.
When we first moved here my mom went to one of the high school football games and was amazed by the spirit of the fans. She then found out that it was because the football team had won the last two games and they are supposed to be a losing team. Also at this time my brothers and I had been telling my mom for years she needed to quit smoking which she had been doing since she was 13. So, we designed a contract. The contract stated that if the Wabash High School football team had a winning season meaning they had to win 5 games that my mother had to quit smoking.
Although many special events have happened lately the football game that was played against spring hill was of special events. That bright sunny day at Dierks High school it was homecoming day. As all the girls were dressed up in their elegant dresses blue jeans and t-shirts were what everyone else was wearing. The mums glitter and shined as they walked down the homecoming court their hair all in place.
Throughout my years of participating in high school basketball, I have overcome many challenges. My freshmen year, basketball started in a way I never expected. Continuing on, I understood the real meaning of hard work, and what it takes. Lessons I learned in basketball will carry on throughout my life, helping me to become a successful adult.
Sounds of squeaking sneakers and screeching whistles cut through the cheering crowd like a siren roaring down a jam packed highway. The welcomed smell of fresh wood floor varnish circulates energy the ones that cherish the true meaning. Handshakes, high fives, and hugs are given in a unique manner where only members can recognize the significance. Observers witness a brotherhood of sportsmanship and lifelong bonding. The brotherhood does not recognize race, religion, or economic standing.
I managed to sneak through the day without getting much done by just being quiet in class due to my longing for the weekend to come. When seventh period rolled around the mood was not pleasant. We stood around not conversing very much even though we all wanted to say something about our playoff chances being eliminated. Eventually our coach came and addressed the elephant in the room, but wanted to make sure that even though this wouldn’t
As a child, I dreamt of playing in the Women’s National Basketball Association after I graduated from college. To this day, I would still be pursuing that dream if it weren’t for my current medical condition. Growing up, I had a passion for basketball. I would participate in school competitions and attend basketball camps. Near the end of my fifth grade year though, my mom noticed that my shoulders were uneven.
How In the 7th grade our basketball team was good, we had never played together and our chemistry came out pretty well. The first team we played was Derby, they’ve always been good in about every sport. We worked hard at practice every day leading up to Gameday. We won that game, in fact we won every game except for two in the regular season, we lost to Andover Central and Augusta. Then we had to play Derby in the championship, it was a hard fought game, but in the end, we lost by 3.
Argumentative Essay – "Are standardized tests an accurate measure of student abilities?" As the American poet and author Anthony Liccione once said: "Just because something is tradition doesn't mean it's right." Nowadays, standardized tests are the most common form of assessing a student's academic performance and potential for academic achievement. That is because standardized tests offer a very objective and fair way of measuring a student's abilities.
