We all know that we are alive; we breathe, we eat, we communicate, we feel. These are all signs of functional activity and of the fact that we are indeed living. However as the fragile humans that we are, we tend to encounter a lot of misfortunes, particularly with bodily injuries and illnesses that always put our living aura in risk. Luckily, thanks to the art of medicine we are able to fight the many illnesses that we encounter through our lifetime. As bacteria, viruses, and diseases evolve so does medicine and it is one of the many reasons why it’s interesting. Medicine is an art of science that is used through the hands of physicians who with various years of study obtain the privilege to use this art on humanity and even expand upon it by research. Throughout my living years of age, I have had my fair encounter with illnesses and bodily injuries with either myself or my loved ones. In one of those encounters, an illness almost rendered my mother fatally sick, but thankfully doctors did everything in their power to give my mother another chance at life. Those physicians that helped my mother did what physicians do everyday; give hope to individuals who feel helpless when they become ill. That is one of the responsibilities I want to take upon myself. I want to use the art of the medicine to heal those that need healing, non judging of their circumstances. Still, I believe that when physicians enlist themselves on the career of medicine they know that they will experience daily life roller coasters. Sometimes there will be days when they will be able to cure or save a life, other times they will unfortunately encounter deaths of patients.
