An environment is your surroundings or conditions in which you live or operate. I grew up in the average middle-class family. Middle class meaning not poor but not as rich. Through all the trials growing up, I seemed to learn a lesson from every part of my childhood environment. My environment has influenced me by teaching me to be strong, giving me support, and opening new doors.
Growing up in a single mother household I saw many different things. My mother raised my sister and I on her own. Our small family has struggled financially and emotionally. I have learned to look at myself from other people's perspective and to change my behavior accordingly. The family environment molded me into a more understanding person and helped me to perform at my best. My family gives their total support both in cheerleading and school activities and has helped me significantly during my school career. My mom was the most influential factor in creating the person I am today. Her unfailing support guided me on a straight and narrow path throughout my high school career and pushed me to put my best effort into each assignment. She helped me develop effective study techniques to prepare for tests. She taught me to set aside an hour and a half each night for studying to avoid the stress of cramming. I enjoy exceeding expectations that my mother place upon me and view them as a challenge to overcome. During my junior year, I felt intimidated by Chemistry Honors and wanted to drop it in favor of an easier class. However, my mother refused to allow me to give up and encouraged me to improve my grades by receiving extra help in tutoring sessions and spending extended time on Chemistry work. After completing Chemistry Honors, I felt full of pride after ultimately succeeding in that
