Overcoming advers requires being brave and noble. Also, being able to look on the positive side in life in tough situations. Overcoming illnesses, disabilities, or disfunctional families can be very hard to deal with. Sometimes you just need to keep going and not look back and by doing so a lot more opportunities may appear in life. Christy Brown in My Left Foot, Bethany Hamilton, and Jeanette Walls in The Glass Castle are all examples of people who had to deal with great hardships in order to push them to become the successful and mature people that they are today.
“There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time,” Malcolm X, and activist overcame adversity by learning from his defeat. To the women of the grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated: The purpose of this letter is to inform you of my interest in becoming a member of the grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated. My desire to inspire young men and women and make a significant impact on their lives is just one of many reasons I aspire to join your great sorority. As the Roman poet Horace once said, "adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant." In other words, he believed that challenges are beneficial because they bring out talents that would have stayed hidden otherwise. He thought that adversity would force a person to use their unknown talents out of desperation. Some argue that his theory is irrelevant and that a person 's skills will develop just as well without adversity if they have the capacity, but I believe that hardships will evoke and improve on their dormant talents.
People in life struggle with hardships enormously in life. People can overcome those hardships and become a new person entirely. Martin Luther King went through a great amount of hardships during the Civil Rights movement. Martin had a great amount of hate received to him all over the country.that just changed him to work harder to convince hateful people that blacks and whites could be together. Martin was sadly assassinated, but his image changed the world greatly.
Being Hispanic to me is the strength the culture has given me to not give up. Hispanics in the United States face many struggles, not only when many decide to move to this country, but also the issues faced in the countries we come from. Being Hispanic has giving me values and responsibilities to represent who I am as individual; for my culture, my country, and my family. Since the beginning my family has been able to turn a bad situation around.

When I was growing up, I experienced many hardships that most people don 't endure. I grew up in the city of Phoenix, Arizona with little to nothing. I had one little sister and an older sister and brother. Even though I was young I knew how difficult my parents had it. My mom worked three jobs and my dad worked in construction just to barely support us.
After the obstacles he has overcame Walt Disney once said “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” Everyone has a time in there life where they need to get passed something that is in there way. When this time or times come everyone would find a way to get through it, whether it is asking for help or doing it on their own. When someone says the word adversity one would say you have to be hard working, determined, and strong would pop into their mind.
Throughout the course of my young life I have been faced with some adversity. The first thing that comes to my mind is when I was in eighth grade and my dad lost his job. This was very hard on all of our family has we felt bad for him. It was especially hard for me because my dad and I have a very strong relationship. When I first learned that he had lost his job I felt very bad for him
As once said by the Roman poet Horace, “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” I agree with this because in many of the books and movies I have watched or read they have this general idea flowing through it all. This is saying that when people face a challenge and they are put in a corner, the push through and find a way. However, when they are just living normal life they tend not to have the same skills. It's kind of like when someone has adrenaline pumping through them they can achieve things much better than normal.
My brother has carved my path to success by way of his mistakes. Upon entering high school, my brother experienced problems with low self-esteem and peer pressure. Adversity is something that I have faced my entire life. Ever since I have found out about my brother’s autism I have dealt with adversity, though it has taught me a lot. The first lesson I got from adversity is that I have to be mature and use common sense no matter how old I was. Being with my brother has given me responsibilities that most kids don’t have to deal with and these responsibilities make me act beyond my age so that I can love and take care of my brother to the best of my abilities. A second life lesson I have gotten from adversity is that I’m best at being myself.
