Adversity affects our world today too. With our harsh rules and drive to be better, one must strive to succeed and overcome the hardships. While there are many qualities needed to overcome adversity, having faith, keeping composure, and receiving support are vital in order to overcome adversity. Jim Abbott would never have made it to the major leagues without the help he received help from family and friends along the way, encouraging him to believe in himself and that he could do it. “It was my parents, my coaches and teachers, literally pulling me to the side and saying you can do this. In addition to Abbott, the Apollo 13 mission would not have been saved. The mission control team supported them and decided to help them make the filter that eventually saved their lives. Without the important support they received, they would not have survived the mission. To conclude the boston marathon got support and bounced back. They were supported by the runners and the fans to come back after the terrible bombing. Through help and support, they were able to come back and return strong. Therefore, without support, overcoming adversity would be very
