It makes perfectly good sense to me but if your knee is going to blow out again, then it could blow out play’n basketball in the NBA just as it could if you were to remain in college and play basketball. At least if you remain in college and get your degree in Architecture you would still have a solid and benefiting foundation to build a life on in case basketball becomes not interested to you anymore. You’re right Redd, you’re so
Ex-Basketball player by John Updike is a poem about Flick Webb. Flick is a mechanic that was a superstar athlete in highschool. Flick wasn't the smartest so he didn't do well in school. Because he didn't do well in school he only became a mechanic and lives in the same town as he did in highschool. I think that the message of the story is that just because you're a great athlete you still have to try hard in school so if sports don't work out then you have a backup option.
The chances of being able to go pro is low, but with the right college and opportunities, the dream may be possible. The same goes for getting recruited by a college as a high school student. If a student comes from a low income school with a weak basketball team, but could very well go to play for a large D1 school. The likelyness of the student being seen by a college scout is slim to none. Although, a known high school may get many scouts looking at the players and being oblivious to the other, possibly better players“Basketball players are required to play at least 1 year of college basketball before they can be drafted into the NBA.

Economic inequality is the difference found in various measures of economic well-being among individuals in a population, often referring to income and wealth. Income and wealth inequality is increasingly prevalent in Australia. The top 20% income group receives around five times as much income as the bottom 20% and the top 20% wealth group has 70 times as much wealth as the bottom 20%. Government policies are used to ensure fairness in the spread of wealth and economic opportunity throughout the economy. However policies can be amended and introduced to further reduce income and wealth inequality.
Not the 3 to 4 percent who make it to the NBA" (Morganteen, 2014). Whilst that is all well and good, a sizable portion of these players enter into college sports to pursue a professional career. For those outside the 3-4% of players who make it to the NBA, they are setback drastically as most of their time is consumed by their sport and the popularity that is brought upon
Professional athletes earn millions of dollars a year for playing the sport they love. Many individuals try to make it in the NHL but never come close to what it takes. In order to be successful in anything, I would have to put in countless hours towards my goal. To be a Professional Hockey player, one would need to work harder than anyone else. I would have to go the extra mile everyday.
Now my thing is what’s the odds of getting hurt in college basketball and not being able to play in the NBA? You worked your whole life to be on the top of the world and now you 're going down hill, all because of a injury. That 's my whole point, if you just could have entered the draft straight out of high school, probably none of this never would have happened. Now you’re thinking “all my recruiters are gone” and my chances of living the perfect dream is dead now. The odds of getting injured and not being able to play basketball is a good 50 percent because either you can get hurt and not go through therapy because it’s difficult or don’t give up and come back even stronger.

My 15 year old brother always had encouraged me to try out, after years of seeing me play. We would spend hours outside playing one on one, or just shooting around. At the tryouts, adrenaline rushed through me. Everywhere I looked, people were ether dribbling, shooting, or talking about tryouts and how nervous they were as well. The tryouts started a few minutes later, when the coaches
Then I could at last dribble constantly and smoothly in place or even while running. This accomplishment was my first step up into my intense pursuit to become a first-rate basketball player (or so I thought). Then I tried to shoot the into the hoop, but like dribbling I had failed, I couldn't even hit the basketball hoop. Though I continuously kept on trying to get better. It’s like they say practice makes perfect.
