It’s fascinating to me how one’s environment growing up can have a significant impact on one’s development. Each decision someone makes in their life, will eventually define who they are. While I can’t be sure; I am confident that my friends, family, and teachers have all impacted my life in ways that have defined who I am. My environment and experiences have given me a unique outlook on life. These are my goals, challenges, and accomplishments that make me unique as an individual. One of these is, I’m not afraid of failure. In fact, I think failing is an essential part of someone’s journey, in order to reach their goals. Personally I don’t like the term “failure” because it implies that you have given up. I choose to see failure as an opportunity to do something better the next time; you’re only a failure if you never try. I have decided to transfer schools; some might say that I have “failed” at my current school, because I know that its where I don’t belong. That’s not how I see it, I see it as opportunity to grow and continue my success. I had the courage to say this is not working for me and I need to take action. I now see my goals more clearly and am aware that I am not in the right environment. In todays culture, there is a great deal of pressure to plan your whole life when you are only18 years old. At 18, I thought I wanted to be a teacher, and now at age 20, I want to purse a career in marketing. I decided to pursue a career in marketing, because I knew my heart was not in teaching. However, I did not know at the time is choosing a path in business was the next right step for me. I was willing to take the risk. Without a doubt, this decision has challenged me to leave my comfort zone. My life is changing constantly and these changes have made my journey
