Becoming a physician is beyond a career goal, but more importantly the realization of what I believe to be my vocation. Matriculating into medical school would be a pivotal step in this laborious and edifying journey that has, thus far, molded my faculties into a fervent passion for the work of a physician. Arriving at this pivotal point was an endeavor characterized chiefly by momentous experiences that served to distinguish my true passions from my interests, and consequently focus them on a life of constant learning and service. I seek to concentrate my medical care in rural and underserved areas, as these areas regrettably lack quality and accessible healthcare. Furthermore, residents of these areas, per my personal experience, are usually more comfortable being served by physicians who share the same or similar backgrounds, thus making them more interactive and cooperative. As part of a grand program to ameliorate the unfavorable standard of living in my hometown, I hope to establish a local medical practice that would serve the residents and others from neighboring communities. This facility would work in conjunction with a proposed community cultural center, a library, a global outreach center, and a mentorship center to ensure that those with ambitions would be able to avail themselves of various opportunities that were not readily accessible to me. I have had an arduous journey thus far, and will see to it that my achievements will propel future generations into greater successes.
