Work Experience
I learned a great deal about the medical profession and what it entails through a week of work experience at a hospital, where I was able to shadow doctors in various specialties. No matter the specialty, all of the doctors that I observed had the same key virtues that I realised were crucial to being an effective medic: they were polite and compassionate/understanding, yet pragmatic and decisive. I am also part of the National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music, the school orchestra and the school choir. Through numerous performances in ensembles and as a soloist, I have learned how to better cope with pressure. Learning to play multiple instruments has required commitment and perseverance, and has improved my time-management skills, as I have had to practice, rehearse and perform alongside my studies and other
