Personal Statement: Return To School

Have you ever thought about how your future going to look? How about looking back in your past life as a little kid. After seeing what your parents must go through to make sure their house hold is well taking care of. As a kid in elementary school, I have seen my parents work hard from sun up to sun down. Many times, I must get dress early in the morning and go to my neighbor house and wait until it’s time for school while my parents had to work. It was times I didn’t get to see them because of overnight working. Now that I have started a family and I don’t want to suffer like my parents did, I decided to return to school and further my education because of personal, financial, and emotional reasons.

To begin, I return to school because of personal reasons. I want to set a great example for my kids, rather they start college right after high school or wait like me. I want them to learn no matter what you go through just push yourself and you will succeed. Also, I want younger children to see me as a great role model so they can attend college as well. Once I graduate, I will be the first to graduate in my family. Majority of my family that attended college end up dropping out in the middle of a semester. As a father of two, I work extra overtime so that I will able to give for them. Sometimes I must get a loan to keep a roof over our head and food on the table. I’m currently a shift manager at McDonald’s, living paycheck to paycheck is something I do not want to do the rest of my life. My goal is to own my business one day.
