Personal Statement: Serving International Student

My interest to work at Hong Hall comes from the very notion of what it represents which is Serving International Student, and . It’s a place which projects conglomeration of different cultures and ethnicity; which fascinates me. I, Myself, being an International student studying in America and a being part of being part of a global experience. I would definitely want to work at a place which embodies the very notion of International prescriptive. Also, being a cultural enthusiast, I can boost befriending people from different languages, and cultures made me more open and empathetic in a way I perceive cultures. Global prescriptive is intriguing, and I can say makes one understand and accept other culture/ethnic background. Having a positive perception and openness towards a culture/language makes one more empathetic and would demolish preconceived notions lingering around the brain which inadvertently alienate things it never experienced. If there is no positive world view it would result in upheaving stereotypes and ideological values, I feel the world is still compressing itself in the dungeons of the orthodox views. Global Prescriptive I will say, is something I stand for. If not for the positivism of the Global prescriptive there would be no amalgamation and assimilation of cultures, and no International students or Hong Hall at PLU. I consider being globally perceptive is being aware or at least make ourselves aware of the diversity around us. It’s fascinating that even learning a language can help us develop culturally aware since language is not just diction and pronunciation. Language shapes the way we see the world and understanding the subtle interactions among various cultures. I believe its form of trying to assimilate and create a bond from a place the language hails from. Since I only ponied out about sociological and anthropological impacts of the Global prescriptive, but it doesn't stop there. It’s a broad term and
