Although it may have been hard, but it was an overall smooth one. All in all, the High School transition is different for everyone.
The transition from high school can be very difficult. Going from knowing everything about a school, its programs as well as surroundings to not knowing anything basically is a huge change. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes: Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled.
I hope that the assumption that the middle schools of Blount County are under-performing is not being made based solely on a comparison with the high schools ' performance and the elementary school 's performance. That would be an unfair and inaccurate assumption if that were the case. The loss of achievement associated with school-to-school transitions from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school is a well documented occurrence. Studies (Alspaugh,1998 & Rosenblatt, 2008) have found a statistically significant achievement loss associated with the transition from elementary school to middle school at the 6th grade as compared with K-8 schools that did not have a school-to-school transition at 6th grade.
For many adolescents entering middle school is an overwhelming and anxious experience. It's a time of transition and offers a whole new learning experience that is very different from elementary school. Middle School is different from elementary school in so many ways. Middle school is a larger harder version of your elementary school. In middle school you can pick elective classes that are fun and in most elementary's you cannot do that. Middle School academics are harder in general, you have to change classes and you must turn in all assignments on time. Following the many rules of middle school is harder than the simple rules of elementary.
Growing up as a kid, I felt as though I didn’t really fit into the lifestyle of my hometown city. My parents worked overtime, my sister had school to deal with, so I didn’t really get the amount of education that I deserved. I was always the type of talkative student that needed to be disciplined in many various ways; I was either ignoring what I was being taught, annoying my fellow classmates, or doing something that I’m not supposed to do. My life processed drastically through my elementary school years, even when it came to a point where I needed to stop slacking and earn the right amount of education that I’ve missed so far. My parents happened to hire a tutor to help me through all the lost amount of subject homework that I’ve postponed so far, to get my grades up in order to promote me to middle school.
Finally in the high school. The only problem is you can’t figure out where to go. Figuring out where to go in the high school can be difficult, especially for a freshman. Many ninth graders are nervous about finding their way around or having class with upperclassmen. Seniors have advice for those freshmen who are nervous about stepping foot in the daunting high school.
School is a great place to learn and everything goes according to plan with no worries. If you believe this you are a complete and total idiot. The middle schools are normanly where things start to go wrong for most people. These are steps for staying as safe as you can be in a school. Don’t talk about politics, don’t try to be funny, and don’t draw attention.
The transition from Primary school to Post-Primary school is a difficult time for anyone involved. It is one of the most drastic changes that students will ever encounter in the educational career. My first day of high school as a freshmen in a new level of education Is what I was thinking when I woke from slumber that morning in bed. I started to get really nervous and a sense of reality hit me. Walking towards the bus stop all I see is a huge group of high school students waiting around for the bus, calm and cool as I try to stay to be I approach the waiting area not knowing what to I’m getting into.
