Publix and Walmart are two well known retail companies that hold great and horrendous job standards. When you talk about a multi-million-dollar corporation that has almost any and everything that a consumer could ask for in one retail store the first place that comes to mind would natural be Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart strives in customers first policy. Constantly making sure that whatever a customer wants or needs it can be accomplished. Wal-Mart also strives and lives on the motto of “Every day Low Prices.”
Walmart’s customer service is quite awful; Walmart’s shopping experience has become chaotic and unpleasant for consumers. The employees appear as if they don’t want to be there. The lack of joy and delight in the store is felt in the atmosphere. The employees have attitude towards the customers and little patience for them. When in need of help finding an item or having trouble about anything; none of the employees seem to be there.
Wal-Mart is good because it produces products for consumers to buy at a low price. The low prices help people that can’t afford high price products to be able to buy what they need. Wal-Mart is probably the widest and strongest company in the U.S. business history. They have a great economy and they are the most admired company. Can you believe that Wal-Mart is the first company on the planet to report one quarter of a trillion dollars in sales $256 billion?
Walmart was founded in the summer of 1962 by Kingfisher, Oklahoma native Sam Walton. Although Walton’s original vision for the store was relatively modest, the half century since its founding has seen Walmart morph into one of the biggest companies in the world. Today headed by one Doug McMillon, Walmart boasts more than 5000 stores in the United States of America alone and employs more than 1.5 million people. Walmart is undoubtedly an American institution, yet each Walmart store feels like its own little country. Walmart seems to have its own laws and customs and the people who shop their on a regular basis appear almost primitive in their behavior as they go about raiding the store’s shelves and wrestling with fellow customers for discount flat screen televisions and bulk packages of two-ply toilet paper.
Some people believe walmart might be the greatest thing that happened to america and other might think that wal-mart is the worst thing that happened to america. I'm going to be explaining some pros and cons about wal mart and dig really deep into the store of walmart itself. First I'm going to start off with a couple pros on why walmart is good for america. One good reason why is because the economy of wal-mart fits in with low income families that can't afford to buy expensive merchandise.

The million-dollar question is “Is Wal-Mart Good for America?” After doing some research and watching “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price,” Documentary. The clear answer is NO, Walmart is not good for America, nor any other country in the world. Wal-Mart as a hole is one of if not the largest business on the planted making over 220 billion dollars a year and has a profit of over 7 billion annually. They claim to be for the people, with their “family friendly” ads.
Each job is important to every one else’s job. Everything must go in order from start to finish. If there aren’t carts, then there aren’t customers. It’s hard to believe that one small job makes that big of a difference. If it wasn’t for associates in each department then their all of the customers would be lost and wouldn’t know where anything was.
Walmart is one of the biggest corporaations in America. They sell pretty much everything! Whether is TV's, clothing, food, house accessories, furniture, you name it, they got it. Everytime I walk into a Walmart, it's always full with customers theres never a time where its empty. How ever, their amazing sales is what catches the citizens attencion.
According to Businessinsider.com, Walmart has over 1.4 million employees in the United States alone. That’s a lot of people who are able to bring home money to their families every day. Despite the low salary and rumors of poor treatment of staff, people need money to survive in today’s society. Working at a Walmart can be a great step for working people to get the experience they need for higher paying positions.
Not only that, another seventy five thousand supplier jobs are supported via Walmarts presence in Missouri. Using a three to twenty eight ratio, which derives from Saint Louis to Missouri wide locations, Walmart employs about four thousand five hundred people in Saint Louis. As of 2017, Walmart did not make the top twenty employers, but the four thousand workers combined with the chain effect of suppliers combined to impact a large number of employed Saint Louisans. However, the list Saint Louis Magazine provides includes many prospective job pools such as Boeing, BJC, Enterprise, along with a mix of schools, military, local government and other retailers. Walmart workers working in-store may not have the education or opportunity to work high level jobs, but still need a stable source of income, like all humans do.
Records show due to Walmart is all around the place, gross domestic prices have gone up in an amount. Even though Walmart set up bad labor and gives bad opportunities to their employees, customers still thinks it is very convenient due to the low price. Since it is all around the corner, it is easy for people to walk in and walk out in any minute. The shopping carts are also a useful tool for customers to pick up their products, they also have small drive shopping carts for disables so they can even come to the store without any help. Nothing is better than Walmart in my opinion.
The article “Labouring the Walmart Way,” author Deenu Parmar talks about how Walmart is able to achieve selling goods at a lower price then any average superstore. The author goes on to explain that Walmart’s antiunion efforts, employee selection, low prices and high retention rate all contribute to their major success. Walmart’s stance on ant unionism allows them to keep wage cost down and keep all their profits up. Not allowing a union keeps Walmart with the power to keep low wages and force unpaid overtime.
A qualified cashier’s work includes; checking customers out at the register, directing customers to certain areas, projecting sales by informing customers of their products, providing a friendly face to represent the company, occasionally stocking shelves, and keeping patience when it is entirely too simple to lose your sanity.
