(Whining) Ugh Jordyn, stop taking selfies! Are you still on intsagram? Who are you texting now? Put your phone away in class! Bluh, bluh, bluh! Adults, they just don’t understand! Cellphones, I think, are the best invention ever made. The fact that such a small technological device can do so much is just mind blowing! I honestly can never get enough! An app called ‘Swift Key’ inspired my speech. ‘Swift Key’ … the words make me think of how careless and impulsive we sometimes are when we text and how quickly we press ‘send’ without really thinking. I feel that it is pretty accurate to say that teens these days, myself included are constantly on our cellphone’s. Instead of talking to people face-to-face and having social interaction, we prefer just texting. This is not only disappointing but also damaging. I guess we could say that phones have made communication easier and more convenient, although, I feel this lacks quality. Now, the question is: Are we sometimes too quick with the send button? My solution is to have a smiling mind. So, what is a smiling mind? For me, a smiling mind is a mind filled with positive thoughts rather than negative thoughts. My mom often tells me that by being positive you will attract positive energy. If your mind is happy, you are happy and if your mind is positive you are positive. To me, it makes sense, because by rather having a positive attitude toward situations, your mind will be in a good place to make good, effective decisions. Another way to stop yourself from sending messages you may regret is by simply blocking all those nasty contacts on your phone.
